My Review:
My Rating: 3 stars

This was an enemies to lover's hockey book. Elizabeth is a pushover to everyone except Sam, for some reason she has no problem telling him how it is. After Sam is suspended her mom asks Elizabeth to check on him and wanting to reassure her mom she ends up helping Sam. Sam needs help with his reputation and Elizabeth is the right person to help him do that. This was a cute, light romance. It had me chuckling at times and I liked watching how Sam helped Elizabeth see she needed to take herself out of toxic situations and quit being such a doormat. I felt this book focused more on Elizabeth and helping her become a stronger woman, which I liked. I haven't read a story in 3rd point of view for awhile so I didn't feel as connected to the characters with that type of writing. I did enjoy most of the secondary characters, especially Maddy and Guy. I also liked the banter between Sam and Elizabeth in the beginning. Overall, it was a cute hockey romance.

My Rating: 3 stars

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. This book comes with a warning about cheating and while normally that is a hard no for me, the cheating in this book didn't bug me. Jake and Kristi are done with school and before they start their new lives they end up hooking up. Kristi becomes pregnant and since she is from a poor family the two decide to marry so she can get his insurance. He goes away and then we start part 2 four years later. Kristi writes him a letter saying she wants a divorce and Jake comes back. He realizes he wants Kristi and he wants to be a part of his son's life. I felt this book had a lot of extra drama that wasn't needed, but I was proud of how Kristi responded to a couple of things that happened with Jake. This is a second chance romance with a guaranteed hea. There were some sexy scenes that were well written and I liked that the author made both characters human. Neither character was perfect and in the second half they both acknowledged that fact. If you are okay with non perfect people, drama, cheating, and a second chance with a hea this is the book for you.

Charmaine Pauls was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of Potchestroom, and followed a diverse career path in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, photography, graphic design, and brand marketing. Her writing has always been an integral part of her professions.

After relocating to Chile with her French husband, she fulfilled her passion to write creatively full-time. Charmaine has published over twenty novels since 2011, as well as several short stories and articles. Two of her shorts have been selected by the International Literary Society for an anthology from across the African continent.

My Review:

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. This book is a contemporary romance following the friendship to relationship between Brayden and Ashley. Ashley was new to town and her mom told her to go look for trouble. Ashley and Brayden meet when they are 12 and become friends. This book follows the two until they are around 18. Harlow did an awesome job showing how the two grew and changed throughout the years. This book does focuses on life and the choices we make more than the romance. I felt for both Ashley and Brayden and I am glad this book was written in dual P.O.V. At times Ashley frustrated me, but I understood where she was coming from and I am so glad that by the end of the book she had stood up for herself multiple times and went after what she wanted. Brayden pissed me off to no end the way he would hide from his feelings. The thing was Harlow did such an awesome job that I understood why the characters did what they did. The side characters were also an amazing addition and added to the story instead of taking away from it.I wasn't sure how the second book would go after everything that happened at the end of this book. I guess I will just have to read it and find out.

My Review:

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Kai and Celeste met at a charity function when Celeste was only 16 years old. After continuously meeting up at parties throughout the years Kai asks Celeste to run away with him. The only problem is Kai never showed up. This is a standalone book in the series Stupid Awesome Love. All of the characters interconnect, but they can be read as standalone books. Celeste needs money for something so she goes to Kai and asks if he can connect her with the reclusive Bobby Nilsson so she can pose as his wife. It's supposed to be a marriage of conviences, yet Celeste doesn't know that Bobby Nilsson and Kai are the same person. Kai doesn't know if he wants to marry Celeste because she isn't who he remembered so he decides to spend time with her as Kai as a sort of test to see if he can trust her. Both Celeste and Kai are broken people trying to heal. I wish the author would have spent more time building the relationship with Kai and Celeste or made it into two books because this book felt a little rushed. This is a new author to me though and I liked how she made these two characters have flaws. If you like semi-arranged marriages, second chances, billionaire, flawed characters this book is for you.

My Review:

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. I am obsessed with siblings older brother romances and best friends brother romances right now. I did not read Falling from Gravity, which is a prequel to this book beforehand and I wish I would have. It's free on Amazon right now too! This book can be read alone, however you will connect with the characters better I think if you read the prequel and understand better how Tobias and Amelia got together in the first place. Tobias wants to be a basketball star for the NBA, while Amelia wants to be a dancer and in order to achieve their dreams they have to be separated for awhile. I enjoyed the second chance romance and that the book was not full of angst. Amelia and Tobias have a relationship that is on a roller coaster, but it feels genuine. They both make mistakes, they both care for each other and they both want the other to achieve their dreams. Sometimes the journey to get back together is not as smooth as you want it to be. Overall, I liked how at one point both the characters fought for what they wanted. If you are looking for a second chance, sports romance without a lot of angst this is the book for you. I just highly recommend reading the prequel first and I will be doing that soon!
