My Review:
My Rating: 4.5 Stars

The Kingston family ends up buying out Daphne's dad's Hockey Team. One of the stipulations is that the Kingston family must keep all of the employees for a year. Daphne ends up being the eldest Kingston's assistant. Max is trying to do his best as the eldest Kingston and show he has what it takes to not only be a leader but build a winning team. Daphne was completely blindsided with her father's choice to sell and wonders where that leads her and her family's legacy with this hockey team. Both Max and Daphne are head strong, but as they start to communicate they learn maybe they aren't so different after all. Now the two have to realize, maybe they aren't enemies after all and maybe they can help the other achieve their goal.

This is an amazing book. I love how Bella writes her main characters and doesn't add unnecessary drama just for the sake of drama. I also love seeing the other Kingston family members and just how they are one big family that's a little dysfunctional, but still loves each other. The only thing I wish I had at times was how everyone was connected. It's been awhile since I have read the other Restless Kings series and I sometimes forget how everyone was connected. Other than that this is a great sports romance that will suck you in and make you forget all your troubles. I will definitely be reading more books by Bella Matthews.

EXCERPT:

“We shouldn’t do this, Miss Brenner. You work for me.” The words feel like acid leaving my mouth as everything south of it rebels at the idea of rejecting her. But I refuse to be the guy who takes advantage of the situation.

She untangles her hands from the front of my shirt and runs them up my forearms. Her fingers trace the lines of my tattoo. Her dark-purple nails are a stark contrast to her pale skin.

Nails that would feel amazing scouring my back once we’re both stripped of our clothes. “I do work for you, Mr. Kingston. And you know what the one good thing my piece-of-shit father did for me was?” Without giving me a chance to answer, she leans closer, bringing her lips to the shell of my ear and dropping her voice. “He gave me a twelve-month contract. You can’t fire me for an entire year. We might as well have some fun. I promise you, nothing needs to change. You’ll still drive me crazy Monday morning.”

“I’m not looking for a girlfriend, Daphne.” She’s saying all the right things. But when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

“Good. Because the last thing I need is someone else who thinks they have a say over the way I live, Max. I’ve had enough of that to last a lifetime.” Her eyes dance between mine. “And I’m not looking for it now.”

I move closer, erasing any space between us. “Are you sure?”

My entire body riots at the idea that she could change her mind. But I ask it anyway because it’s the right thing to do.

Daphne nods her head with a beautiful smile on her lips. “Words, Miss Brenner. I need to hear the words.”

Excitement is hot.

But consent is fucking sexy.

Her fingers tighten on my arms. “I’m sure, Mr. Kingston. Now get me out of here.”

I reach into my pocket and pull three-hundred-dollar bills from my wallet and throw them on the bar. “Hey, Sawyer.” I wait for him to look up. “Can you tell Becks to catch an Uber back?”

Sawyer looks between Daphne and me and raises a brow. “Yeah. I’ve got ya covered.”

I frame Daphne’s face in both my hands. “Do you need to text your friends?”

“I’ll do it from the car.”

“No, baby. You’re going to be doing other things in the car. Text your friends.”

Kiss My Giraffe-Excerpt, Review and Blog Tour!!

She’s the only woman he can’t resist.

And now she lives right next door.

Kiss My Giraffe, a spicy grumpy sunshine romantic comedy, and the final standalone in the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas, is available now!

BLURB:

Fiona knew Knox would be mad when she moved in next door.

And not because she brought a collection of wild animals with her.

And she was right.

So she intended to leave him alone. Mostly.

But he’s not ignoring her. He’s actively working to send her and her “ridiculous menagerie” (rude) right back out of town.

Still, as hard as she tries, it’s impossible to stop thinking about the small town grump’s long hair and tattoos and that mouth.

Not the one that’s almost always set in a grim line and says things like, “you got a permit for that?”

Nope, the one that kisses her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted and says very dirty things in her ear. And sweet, protective, supportive things. Sometimes. Accidentally.

When she catches him off-guard.

The one that also says he only wants a long-distance fling with her. Nothing serious.

And that he never dates women he sees every day. Like his neighbor.

Well, fine. If he doesn’t want her—and her unbelievable past and that-can’t-be-real future—then she doesn’t want him either. He can just kiss her…giraffe. (Yeah, she actually has a couple of those.)

Now she just needs to convince her heart to give him up.

My Review:

My Rating: 4 Stars

Knox and Fiona have been building up the tension and steam ever since Fiona showed up in her purple truck and started bringing animals to the Boys of the Bayou wildlife rescue. Now Fiona is moving to the Bayou and just happens to be Knox's new neighbor. Knox doesn't date women he sees everyday and wants to have a long distance fling with Fiona. He just has to find a way to stop her from moving to the Bayou, except Fiona knows what she wants and will go after it. This was a great ending to this series. I love how Knox comes off as a grouchy, nerdy, by the book kinda guy, except he does have that Bayou blood running through his veins that can do all the dirty talking a girl can handle!  I enjoyed finding out about Fiona's secrets and how she doesn't let other people stop her from doing what she loves .

I also hope Fiona's brother's get books because I am definitely interested in their stories! If you are looking for a book with a huge family that doesn't mind their own business, cute animals, dirty talking grouch, slow burn to scorching story then this is the book for you! I don't want to say too much and give anything away but if you thought you knew Fiona before, you really don't until you read this book. I would suggest reading Otterly into You because it is the prequel novella to this book, but the other Boys Of The Bayou stories can all be read as standalones.

Read on for a look inside Kiss My Giraffe!

“Remember that thing we talked about at Christmas?"

Knox felt his gut clench. They'd talked about sleeping together. And him becoming the temporary foster dad to three baby otters.

And they'd kissed for the first time. A kiss that had been causing annoying, unwelcome, frustrating dirty dreams for three fucking months.

"About having a salacious affair where we sneak around behind our friends' backs and sleep together whenever I'm in town?" she pressed when he didn't answer.

"Yes. I remember."

Too well. He was incredibly pissed about how often he'd replayed that conversation and how restless he'd been waiting for her to call or come back to Autre.

He didn't pine for women. Ever. He did the opposite of that.

But now she was here. And Knox wasn't sure what he was feeling. Her showing up unannounced wasn't unusual. Fiona Grady rolled into Autre without warning more often than not in her grape-soda-purple truck that sent his heart hammering and cock hardening.

But it had been three months since he'd seen her. Since they'd talked. Since he'd had any clue what she was doing, where she was, how she was.

Suddenly, she was on his doorstep asking about their plan to bang whenever she was in town for a couple of days?

"Okay, well, there's something I need to tell you that will make you not want to do that anymore," she said. "So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get naked together once before I told you and ruined everything?"

He opened his mouth to reply. Then shut it without a word. What the hell?

He glanced over his shoulder. Three minutes ago, he'd been sitting at his kitchen table doing paperwork with a cup of coffee and listening to a podcast about new creative urban development ideas.

Now the woman he was low-level obsessed with was on his porch asking if he wanted to have sex before she told him something that would make him not want to have sex with her anymore.

He ran a hand through his hair. This was why Fiona Grady was no good for him.

She came into his carefully controlled and organized life and made things chaotic and messy.

"Are you sick?" he asked.

"Sick? No."

"Dying?"

"No."

"Is anyone dying?"

"No."

"Are you married?" He braced himself. He knew very little about this woman, actually, and if she belonged to someone else, he'd… leave her alone. And hate that man. And never forgive her for stirring him up like this.

"Absolutely not."

"Engaged?"

"No."

Okay, that was all…way too much of a relief. He should not be this happy to hear that.

";Did you kill someone?" he asked.

She tipped her head, her mouth curling. "Is that a definite deal-breaker?"

No, probably not. Knox narrowed his eyes.

"No, I haven't killed anyone."

"Are the Feds looking for you? Or will I be implicated in some kind of crime if I let you in?"

"Not that I'm aware of."

"That's not a no."

"I'm just being honest."

Fair enough. Fiona was a wild animal advocate. The type of person to show up at roadside petting zoos and circuses; to monitor how the animals were treated and hand out literature to people attending the events, raising awareness about the poor conditions and treatment of those animals. She showed up to help rescue and care for animals, wild and domestic, after natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires. She regularly lobbied local, state, and even the national government for animal protections.

The chance that she could have done something in the "gray"  for one of her causes was pretty good.

The problem with that was he knew that wouldn't keep him from wanting her.

She was precisely the kind of woman he should be avoiding.

He studied her face for another long moment, then gave in to the inevitable. He pushed his door open.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"Yeah."

She wasn't dying, wasn't married, and hadn't killed anyone. And he wanted her more than he'd ever wanted another woman in his life. So how was he possibly going to shut the door on her? After three months of missing her? He wasn't that strong. Or stupid.

The Wrong Boy- Excerpt and Review!!

He was the wrong boy for me then and he’d be the wrong boy for the job now.

The Wrong Boy, a swoon-worthy small-town second-chance romance set in The All American Boy Series from bestselling author Ashley Munoz, is live now!

BLURB:

Having a bed and breakfast with just one communal bathroom wasn’t working, and it was past time to bite the bullet and upgrade the inn.

There was just one small problem: In the small town of Deacon, Texas, there was only one contractor.

Yep, just one: Jonathan Oaks.

But it didn’t matter how skilled he was at building things when all I knew about him was how good at breaking my heart he was.

Five years could put a lot into perspective, but it wasn’t enough time to make me forget that he was the wrong boy for me then and he’d be the wrong boy for the job now.

I should have known better.

Jonathan Oaks wasn’t about to lose the chance to renovate my inn, or to rub in my face that he’d been right about us all along.

My Review:
My Rating: 3 Stars

This was my first book by Ashely Munoz and I enjoyed most of it. This was a second chance novella so things flew by very quickly. Jonathan or Oaks as he goes by and Tilly used to date until 5 years ago when she broke up with him and broke both their hearts in the process. Now it's 5 years later and TIlly is looking at remodeling her bed and breakfast. The only problem is that Oaks is the only local contractor in their small town and Tilly can't afford to go out of town to get a new contractor. The two now have to spend time together during the renovations and deal with their past.

This was definitely a book that flew by as I read it and I enjoyed Oak's character and Tilly most of the time. I wanted to love Tilly, but I felt like she repeated some of her past mistakes and it took her longer to realize that instead of learning from her past. This book was definitely steamy and I did enjoy the author's writing. I wish it would have been longer because I wanted to see more of the town that these two had to try and share for the last 5 years. I will definitely check out more of this author's work because this book held my attention.

EXCERPT:

This place was breathtaking in the spring and charming in the summer, and in the winter, she had the fire roaring and thick, wool blankets out for all the guests to use while watching the rain pour from the porch. I had wanted Tilly to upgrade this place years ago, but we always fought whenever I brought it up, which made this entire situation even more frustrating because she’d finally decided to upgrade, just not with me.

“Well, thank you for your time…” I heard Tilly say gently while tugging open the screen door and holding it for the man exiting her inn. He had a white head of hair and a matching white beard to match.

“Not a problem, ma’am.”

He gave me a swift nod of acknowledgment and headed to his truck. Meanwhile Tilly’s eyes were on me as if I were a werewolf that had just snuck onto her property.

“What are you doing here?”

I stalked up the creaking steps and joined her on the porch, stuffing my hands into the pockets of my worn jeans. Just like every other time, I felt naked in front of her, as though she was seeing all my weaknesses and everything that made me vulnerable.

“Got a visit from your sister today.” A few bees hovered overhead near the flower baskets as a cool breeze made the blooms sway back and forth.

Tilly let out a soft breath as her eyes darted to the side, which gave me a free pass to check her out.

She had changed over the past five years, a lot. I mean, we lived in the same small town, so it wasn’t like I hadn’t seen her around, but we were usually goin’ in the other direction if one of us was in the same vicinity. It was an unspoken rule that we never frequented the same spots at the same time, and our friends and family had learned over time not to invite us both to the same events, so it was rare that I was actually in front of her like this.

Her hair was red gold, as if each piece of auburn hair was intertwined with sunshine. It hung down to the middle of her back in thick, glossy waves. Her petite frame was similar to her sisters’: big chest, curved hips, and an ass that made my brain empty and my dick hard as stone. She was still as perfect as she’d been five years ago, and the years I’d seen and wanted her prior to that. My mother once guessed that Tilly Banks would be the great love of my life, but because I couldn’t seem to keep the girl, she’d be the great loss of it too, which explained my perpetual grumpy attitude.

My mother was wrong, though. I was over Tilly. I had been for years; I just couldn’t help noticing God’s fine handiwork. The man deserved a medal for what he’d done with Telissa Banks.

“Oaks…”

I snapped my attention from Tilly’s chest back up to her face. “What?”

“I asked why you came.”

I shrugged. “Told you, your sister—”

“Yeah.” She waved me off, heading inside. “Honey is always marchin’ and talkin’—doesn’t explain why you suddenly jumped to it.”

I followed her through the foyer, bypassing the small service desk being managed by a much younger Banks sister, the youngest of the six.

“Hello Hennessey.” I tipped my head in her direction.

She had her cell phone shoved under her nose as her eyes tipped up. “You’re still the enemy, Oaks, at least according to my father.”

“That’s enough, Henny,” Tilly warned as she stormed past the desk and toward the small alcove under the stairs that acted as her office. There wasn’t any fire in her warning to her sister, though, so I knew I’d become the butt end of a joke in their family…which sat in my chest like a spiked barb.

Slowing my steps outside of Tilly’s office, I watched as she took a seat at her desk.

There wasn’t enough room inside for two people, so I placed my hand along the doorway and leaned down.

“Competition, Ms. Banks. You’re callin’ in outside contractors when the good people of Deacon could use that work.”

She shuffled a few papers at her desk, completely unaware of the fact that with her sitting and me standing, I could see right down her dress.

“Well, I’m sorry to say, but it was a wasted effort on your end. I’ll be having Tack Construction handle the renovation.”

I let out a loud scoff, because this girl was ridiculous. “They’re going to travel all the way from Austin to handle this every single day?”

She nodded but didn’t look up from her monitor.

“What was their bid on this place?” I pushed off the frame and looked down the hall. “And what all are you doin’ anyhow?”

“Nothin’. Now if you’ll please find your way out, I’d appreciate it.”

Cold and mean as a honey badger—that was all Tilly had been to me for five years, and I was fucking tired of it. Heaving a sigh, I shook my head and decided I’d get my answers elsewhere.

“I’ll go, but plan on me bein’ back,” I warned as I turned to leave, but I didn’t miss the little comment she made as I turned my back.

“Not likely, Oaks…you never come back.”

Rule Breaker-Release Blitz

Rule Breaker by Stacey Lynn is now live!

BLURB:

Spending the night in jail isn’t exactly how I planned to spend Christmas, but I’ve had worse holidays…

Now that I’m out, it’s time to accept my real punishment. Coaching ten-year-old terrors on the ice, in my non-existent free time. My Coach thinks it’d be good for me. Remind me where I came from. He should know I’ve tried every day of my life for the last ten years to forget.

The youth hockey league is a hell I didn’t plan on and the worst penalty possible…

Until the day a sweet, single mom cracks a joke about her kid, and then all bets are off.

I’m the best defenseman in professional hockey, but I didn’t see her coming… now what in the hell do I do? I’m not equipped for a relationship. I’m definitely not ready to have a kid depending on me, but I can’t deny she makes me feel things— want things I never imagined I could have.

I should save us both the trouble and stay far away from her. But rules were made to be broken, and I was never good at following them anyway.

My Review:

My Rating: 4 Stars

This is the third Las Vegas Vipers book, but can be read as a standalone. Dominick is a pro hockey player who tends to keep to himself. He will go out occasionally with his teammates, but not very often. Dominick ends up getting arrested around Christmas time and his coach decides to help with his public image that he will coach a youth hockey team. Holly is a recently divorced and single mom who is doing her best to raise her enthusiastic hockey loving son, who just needs some confidence and good coaching to be a decent hockey player. After seeing Dominick with her son, Holly can't help but want to know more about the new coach and his past. As the two talk during Hockey practices the more chemistry keeps coming out. Now Holly has to decide if she wants to take a leap of faith while still dealing with her jerk of an ex husband and Dominick has to decide if he wants to open up and show the world who he really is.

This was a cute, hockey romance that has some angst and some definite heat. I love how Stacey made Holly cautious and how we see Dominick opening up to those around him. I have read the past two Las Vegas Viper books and cannot wait to read more about Dominick's teammates.
