Jace is a single dad in search of a nanny for his son Cohen. Nobody seems good enough until Indy walks through the door. Even though he's still skeptical he ends up taking a chance on Indy and offering her the job. Indy does not want to be a nanny, but it will help her pay off her student loans and give her a chance to save money while only being a year long contract.

This was a little insta love burn and I wish we could have seen more of a build up between Indy and Jace. I enjoyed the characters though. Jace knows what he wants and just goes for it. I love that we got to see the other Kingston siblings with Jace and Indy and see how the relationship between Jace and his siblings are and his take on how they treat him. I loved watching Jace with Cohen and Indy with Cohen because Bella did a great job bringing the baby into the story. I can't wait to read about the next Kingston sibling!

Max is a hockey player for the Las Vegas Vipers and is trying to enjoy a week long vacation for his brother's wedding. He is trying to take it easy after an injury and just enjoy spending time with his family and thinking about his future. Kim is the bride's cousin and the two are as close as sisters. Max and Kim decide to have a no strings attachment since Kim lives in California and Max lives in Vegas, but as the week goes by the two get to know each other better and Max wants more. Can he convince Kim that they can make this work?

This was a cute story, but did not have as much hockey in it as the others in this series. You can read this book as a standalone even though it's the 4th book in the Las Vegas Vipers series. I liked that Kim knew what she wanted and was a very strong female character. I also love how Max had such a soft side but could be an alpha when needed. This is a very light read with little angst that will have you wishing one of your family members were getting married on a private island.

The Kingston family ends up buying out Daphne's dad's Hockey Team. One of the stipulations is that the Kingston family must keep all of the employees for a year. Daphne ends up being the eldest Kingston's assistant. Max is trying to do his best as the eldest Kingston and show he has what it takes to not only be a leader but build a winning team. Daphne was completely blindsided with her father's choice to sell and wonders where that leads her and her family's legacy with this hockey team. Both Max and Daphne are head strong, but as they start to communicate they learn maybe they aren't so different after all. Now the two have to realize, maybe they aren't enemies after all and maybe they can help the other achieve their goal.

This is an amazing book. I love how Bella writes her main characters and doesn't add unnecessary drama just for the sake of drama. I also love seeing the other Kingston family members and just how they are one big family that's a little dysfunctional, but still loves each other. The only thing I wish I had at times was how everyone was connected. It's been awhile since I have read the other Restless Kings series and I sometimes forget how everyone was connected. Other than that this is a great sports romance that will suck you in and make you forget all your troubles. I will definitely be reading more books by Bella Matthews.

EXCERPT:

“We shouldn’t do this, Miss Brenner. You work for me.” The words feel like acid leaving my mouth as everything south of it rebels at the idea of rejecting her. But I refuse to be the guy who takes advantage of the situation.

She untangles her hands from the front of my shirt and runs them up my forearms. Her fingers trace the lines of my tattoo. Her dark-purple nails are a stark contrast to her pale skin.

Nails that would feel amazing scouring my back once we’re both stripped of our clothes. “I do work for you, Mr. Kingston. And you know what the one good thing my piece-of-shit father did for me was?” Without giving me a chance to answer, she leans closer, bringing her lips to the shell of my ear and dropping her voice. “He gave me a twelve-month contract. You can’t fire me for an entire year. We might as well have some fun. I promise you, nothing needs to change. You’ll still drive me crazy Monday morning.”

“I’m not looking for a girlfriend, Daphne.” She’s saying all the right things. But when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

“Good. Because the last thing I need is someone else who thinks they have a say over the way I live, Max. I’ve had enough of that to last a lifetime.” Her eyes dance between mine. “And I’m not looking for it now.”

I move closer, erasing any space between us. “Are you sure?”

My entire body riots at the idea that she could change her mind. But I ask it anyway because it’s the right thing to do.

Daphne nods her head with a beautiful smile on her lips. “Words, Miss Brenner. I need to hear the words.”

Excitement is hot.

But consent is fucking sexy.

Her fingers tighten on my arms. “I’m sure, Mr. Kingston. Now get me out of here.”

I reach into my pocket and pull three-hundred-dollar bills from my wallet and throw them on the bar. “Hey, Sawyer.” I wait for him to look up. “Can you tell Becks to catch an Uber back?”

Sawyer looks between Daphne and me and raises a brow. “Yeah. I’ve got ya covered.”

I frame Daphne’s face in both my hands. “Do you need to text your friends?”

“I’ll do it from the car.”

“No, baby. You’re going to be doing other things in the car. Text your friends.”

This is the third Las Vegas Vipers book, but can be read as a standalone. Dominick is a pro hockey player who tends to keep to himself. He will go out occasionally with his teammates, but not very often. Dominick ends up getting arrested around Christmas time and his coach decides to help with his public image that he will coach a youth hockey team. Holly is a recently divorced and single mom who is doing her best to raise her enthusiastic hockey loving son, who just needs some confidence and good coaching to be a decent hockey player. After seeing Dominick with her son, Holly can't help but want to know more about the new coach and his past. As the two talk during Hockey practices the more chemistry keeps coming out. Now Holly has to decide if she wants to take a leap of faith while still dealing with her jerk of an ex husband and Dominick has to decide if he wants to open up and show the world who he really is.

This was a cute, hockey romance that has some angst and some definite heat. I love how Stacey made Holly cautious and how we see Dominick opening up to those around him. I have read the past two Las Vegas Viper books and cannot wait to read more about Dominick's teammates.

Joey's hockey team just won the Stanley Cup and instead of going out and partying with his teammates he decides to go to a family dinner first with a few of his friends. There he sees his teammate's sister, Gabby, and even though he's been divorced for less than a year he can't help but be attracted to her. Next thing you know Joey and Gabby wake up together and realize they got married the night before. Not wanting another divorce in the year Joey asks Gabby to stay married to him and give this marriage a true shot. Afterall, he doesn't want bad publicity for his team and Gabby is tired of her mom thinking she is too impulsive. As the two spend more time together the chemistry between them grows and so do their feelings. Joey is a good guy who wants a partner like his brother's have with their wives. Gabby may be impulsive but she has big dreams and is trying to figure out who she is in life.

I loved Joey and how he was loyal and always tried to make Gabby happy. He stood up to her against her family when she wasn't the woman they thought she should be and stood by her side when she could handle the situation herself. He was honestly just a nice guy and I liked how he kept the communication between them so Gabby didn't know what he was feeling.

Gabby was great too, but she did frustrate me at times. Gabby is not as close to her mother and because of that she has some self esteem issues. She doesn't trust herself very easily so it was hard for her to trust Joey and her own heart. I loved Gabby's character growth and how she was true to herself and wanted to be the best version of herself even if it meant she had to trust herself when it got hard. Honestly, I just love Stacy's stories because they focus more on internal conflicts versus external conflicts. I also love how she built the relationship between Gabby and Joey and showed the two falling for each other and bringing out the best in each other. I am super excited for Dom's story next though!

Rhodes and Ryan are hanging out in Vegas with some of their friends and celebrating a hockey win. One thing leads to another and Rhodes and Ryan wake up married the next morning. Rhodes can't afford the bad press that would come with an accidental marriage and Ryan needs some help too. The duo hatch a plan and change their accidental marriage to one of convenience and decide to stay married for a year where Rhodes will help Ryan with her problems and she will pretend to be his wife.

This book did have a few tie-ins with Beauty and the Beast. Rhodes had a grumpy nature and a scar on his face and his teammates called him "The Beast" whereas Ryan was a youtube beauty influencer and her last name was Bell. This was a cute book, but I just wanted more of Rhodes being grumpy and I felt things moved very fast in the beginning. This is the first book I have read by the author and looking at other reviews Rhodes and Ryan had scenes together in Puck Shy and that may be why for me they already seemed to know quite a bit about each other. This book definitely had some steamy times, some humor and of course seeing opposites falling for each other. If any of this sounds like something you would like then I would recommend this book to you.

Lizzie and Garrett have been best friends for years and when they are both single are sometimes friends with benefits. However, the last time they hung out Garrett told her he wanted more and Lizzie freaked and said she needed more time. 12 weeks later and Lizzie is now freaking out and pregnant. How do you tell your best friend he's going to be a dad? Also, does he still want everything with her? T

This was a cute story. I felt for both Lizzie and Garrett. Lizzie was scared of losing Garrett and facing her feelings for him when she left, but after leaving him and then becoming pregnant she realized she wanted a life and a family with Garett. Garett was scared to get hurt again by Lizzie and finding out he was going to be a father was a big deal. I felt the author did a great way of handling the pregnancy and the reactions were very real. I also loved the banter between the two and the communication that they learned to have through the book. If you love accidental pregnancies, hockey, no ow or om drama, friends to lovers than this book is for you! I can't wait to read more about the other Viper Hockey players.
