Fast Review

Fast by Gillian Archer
Burns Brothers #2

Synopsis:
Family means everything to this tattooed bad boy--good thing since he's about to start his own.
I wanted her the first time I laid eyes on her. But what starts as a fun time, quickly gets serious when the stick turns pink a month later. My life is already chaos with my recently paroled father popping up and the usual drama at the family business building custom motorcycles. Plus our reality show just got picked up for a full season.

But it really hits the fan when I discover that the new woman in my life is the daughter of the President of the West Coast Kings, the baddest motorcycle club in Sacramento--and our biggest client. Think he'll like being called Grandpa?

Life just got hella complicated.

My Review:
Rating: 3.5 stars

I liked this book better than the first. Ryan is the middle brother and when he first sees Hope he wants her. They end up getting together and soon a baby is on it's way. One of the problems in their way is Hope is the daughter of the MC President. I loved the chemistry and realness of this couple. Ryan comes off as confident, but once you are inside his head you see how anxious about stuff he is. Hope is not what you would expect as a daughter of the MC President and I liked that. Ryan is still trying to deal with his family drama as he and Hope try to get to know each other better. This was a cute story with just a little angst and honestly nothing too bad. I thought the epilogue was cute too.

I pulled away with a soft laugh. “We better get to the bed before I lose the ability to use my knees.”

“Lead the way.”

I rolled my eyes, grabbed his hand, and pulled him toward the bed. Turning, I sat on the edge of the bed and eyed Ryan expectantly. How did I do this again?

Ryan chuckled as he toed off his work boots. They fell to the floor with a thump. “You should see your face right now.”

“Do I look freaked? Because I feel kinda freaked. I don’t know how to do this. I mean, I’ve done this before—just not this this, ya know?”

“Hey, hey.” Ryan sat next to me on the edge of the bed. “There’s no right way or wrong way to do this. There’s no game plan or checklist or whatever. We just do whatever feels right, whatever you want.”

“Okay.” I gave a shuddering sigh as I looked into his gorgeous eyes. “Then I want you to kiss me.”

“Maybe we should—”

“No. You said whatever feels right. And it always feels right when you kiss me.” I leaned into him and his arm came around my shoulders and settled in a way that just…felt right. “Please.”

Ryan groaned. “Christ. You have no idea what it does to me when you bring out the eyes. You could ask me anything, and I’d probably do it.”

“Then kiss me already.”

He leaned toward me, his lips hovering over mine, and then he whispered, “As long as you promise to only use your powers for good.”

“No promises,” I whispered back.

Ryan’s eyes flared and he groaned. “Fuck me.”

Then his lips covered mine, and I lost the ability to think. All I could do was feel. His amazing lips. The way his hair felt in my hands because I had to hold him somewhere. The way my heart raced when he suckled on my tongue.

Minutes later I was the one tugging frantically at his clothing because I had to feel him. Everywhere.
Ryan’s laugh was husky in my ear and made me want to moan. “I think the only thing hotter than your gorgeous eyes is how eager you are right now.”

I swung my leg over his hips so I could straddle him. Looking into his eyes, I smiled wickedly.
Ryan cleared his throat unevenly. “Uh, I stand corrected. Apparently you can get way hotter.”

The power I felt in that moment… The fact that I had this man, this crazy hot guy, so worked up and just willing to do anything that I wanted? I think I could’ve come from that thought alone.

Then I pulled his shirt up and over his head.

Or maybe the view of his hard, tattooed body would send me over the edge.

I ran an appreciative hand over the art covering his chest and arms. The heart on his left pec with “family” written in script. The flamed motorcycle racing down his arm. And the muscles. Sweet baby Jesus, the muscles! He had so many muscles I couldn’t even…

He took advantage of my temporary paralysis and tugged my shirt up and over my head. A reverent expression stole across his face. “Ah, Hope. You’re just…”

He trailed off in a groan before he took my lips again in a harsh, hungry kiss.

I ached to feel those lips on my nipples. Unconsciously arching toward him, I moaned into his mouth. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore. I reached behind me to unclasp my bra but my fingers were swiftly batted away by Ryan’s. He made quick work of the clasp and then my bra was falling down my arms, baring me to Ryan’s hungry eyes.

“Christ, they’re even more gorgeous than I imagined.” He lifted a hand and cupped the underside of my left breast.

My cheeks heated with his compliment. Or the contact. I didn’t know which. I bit my lip and looked down at where his tanned, calloused fingers held my pale breast. “You’ve been thinking about my boobs for a while?”

Ryan groaned and brushed his stubbled cheek against my nipple. “All night. And occasionally when I was alone the last few months. I couldn’t get you out of my head after that first night. How you looked. That scent. The way your voice sounded.”

“And my boobs?” I teased. But still, I was caught by the way he remembered me. I’d had such an impact on him that he thought about me, too?

“There’s no way to get these babies out of my mind.” Ryan murmured as he rasped his cheek against my hard nipple again. Then he finally stopped teasing me and gave what I craved. He captured the tip of my breast in his mouth and suckled hard.

And I melted. I think I groaned or something. I know I burrowed a hand into his hair and held him against me. Like I was afraid he’d try to get away.

Ryan pulled back—as much as my greedy hands would let him—and blew gently on my wet nipple before turning his head and laving attention on my other, poor, neglected tip.

I closed my eyes and let my head fall back as the sensations shrouded me. I wanted more. I wanted deeper. I wanted him all. My thighs clenched and I was seconds away from my second orgasm of the night when Ryan pulled away with a groan.

“Shit, beautiful.” His breath was warm against my shoulder. “You keep grinding on me like that and this show is gonna be over before I even get out of my pants.”

Fast- Excerpt and Giveaway

Excerpt:

“Everything okay?”

“Yes.” I nodded affirmatively like I was trying to convince both of us.

“All right.” He eyed me for a second, waiting expectantly. “Are you going to let us in? Looks like a combo is required.”

The door. Right. I needed to enter my code. My cheeks heating with my flustered nerves, I crossed to the keypad and entered my pin—the date that I’d found out my father wasn’t dead after all, six years ago. The keypad flashed green, and the door buzzed. I reached for the handle, but Ryan beat me, pulled it open, and held it for me.

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome, beautiful.”

I ducked my head to hide my smile. I realized it was probably a nickname he used with every girl, but I still felt a zing every time he called me beautiful.

I got a few feet into the entryway when I realized he hadn’t followed me. Turning, I found him still in the doorway, holding the door open. “Aren’t you coming?”

He lifted a shoulder. “Do you still want me to come inside with you?”

I took a deep breath and nodded.

“You don’t look sure. There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind.”

“No, I want you to come up with me. It’s just…” I trailed off, not sure how to finish that sentence or how much of myself I wanted to reveal to him.

Ryan leaned against the open door. “It’s just what?”

In for a penny… “I’ve never done this before.”

“You’ve never had a guy inside your building?” Ryan tilted his head as a devilish spark gleamed in his eyes.

“I’ve-never-had-a-one-night-stand-before.” I rushed it out in one breath, unable to look at him. An awkward silence buzzed between us. I hadn’t heard the door close but I was afraid to look. Instead, I crossed the lobby to the elevator. I felt so stupid. Why did I say that? I should’ve come up with something cleverer, but no, I just blurted out my total lack of experience like someone without any social skills. Mortified, I stabbed at the elevator call button.

The elevator pinged immediately and the doors slid open. I didn’t even bother looking behind me. He was probably halfway back to the clubhouse by now.

“Uh, who said we were gonna have sex?”

I swung around and looked at him incredulously. “Why are you here then?”

“You said you wanted to talk somewhere quieter.” Ryan leaned against the wall and hooked his thumbs in his front jeans pockets.

The elevator doors slid shut with us still standing in front of it.

“So, you’re just here to talk? Are you serious? What about all those kisses and the crazy sexual tension that’s been buzzing between us?” I almost pointed out the hard-on he’d walked two blocks with, but thank God my social skills weren’t that bad.

“Don’t get me wrong, I was hoping for more, but given how hesitant you are, I thought that was off the table.”

I didn’t even know what to say to him. It was mortifying to know I’d been that transparent. So much for my newly acquired badass skills. “You’re happy to come upstairs and just talk to me? Really?”

“Really. I am hoping I’ll get another kiss or two, but I know even that’s not guaranteed. You’re the one in charge here, Hope. What happens between us is entirely up to you because I think I’ve made my stance pretty clear. But in case you need another reminder—” He slipped a hand behind my head and bent toward me. His lips hovered over mine, questioning.

And I couldn’t resist. I closed the distance and kissed him with everything I had. I wanted this man. After a beat, he took over and kissed me in that amazing, toe curling way that only Ryan was capable of.

I groaned into his mouth and swayed toward him, wrapping my arms around his muscular body. Oh my God. Yes.

Yes.

I was totally doing this.

One night stand with a bad boy? Check.

Build Review

Build by Gillian Archer
Burns Brothers #1

Synopsis:

Welcome to Bad@ss Builds where the motorcycles are as sexy as the brothers building them.

Austin Burns:

I thought she wasn’t real the first time I saw her. To be fair I was a hungover mess when I woke up and looked into her gorgeous eyes. After getting the second worst news of my life — that my father would be paroled soon — I’d escaped to my buddy’s posh cabin near Lake Tahoe. Now the maid with the gorgeous eyes is snowed in with me, and I wonder if she might be a better distraction than the mountain of booze I’d planned on drinking. She’s curvy in all the right places, and the snow is falling faster.

Rachel Tannenbaum:

As a single mom, I don’t have time for men, especially irresponsible tattooed bad boys like my ex. But Austin is hot. And sexy. And stuck here in the cabin with me. I can’t say no to a fling with this bad boy, especially since Austin is so gorgeous and awkwardly sweet.

One night becomes two, and I don’t know if I can risk my heart — and my little boy’s — if Austin wants it to become more when we get through the snow and back to reality.

My Review:
My Rating: 3 stars

Austin works at a garage with his brothers and as the oldest brother has had a lot of responsibility thrown on him. He gets some bad news and decides to go to one of his friend's cabin and figure out what to do with the news. Enter Rachel, a single mom who cleans houses as one of her jobs. A huge storm blows in leaving them trapped together in a cabin until they can get plowed out. What happens when the chemistry is off the charts? This was a cute story, but at times I grew frustrated with both the lead characters. I loved seeing the relationship Austin has with his brothers and how close Rachel and her mom and son were. I thought the sex scenes weren't over the top but the way Rachel and Austin both acted drove me up the wall. I will say even though they frustrated me, this story felt real. It wasn't a fairy tale and it showed what hard work goes into relationships.
