Ryder and Kailey met at a music festival in New Orleans and had a one night stand. A few weeks later Kailey finds out she's pregnant and decides to go tell Ryder at one of his concerts. This was my first Prescott Lane book, but I enjoyed her writing and it won't be my last. This is the second book in the Merrick brothers, but can be read as a standalone.

Where to start? I loved how Kailey was sweet, but not a pushover. That's something a lot of authors struggle to balance. She brought light into Ryder's life, but she didn't let him tell her what she was going to do. Ryder is a tortured musician, but wants to do the right thing with Kailey and be a father to their child. Will Kailey forgive him for lying to her and making her a one night stand? Or will she walk away from Ryder after telling him he's going to be a father. I loved the twists and turns in this book and even though  I was expecting something to happen but I wasn't expecting what actually did happen. It's unusual for me not to get the twist right and I honestly was surprised by what the author chose to do. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Meet Prescott

Prescott Lane is the USA TODAY best-selling author of ALL MY LIFE. She's written several other romance books with strong heroines and swoon-worthy heroes. She is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a degree in sociology and an MSW from Tulane University. She married her college sweetheart, and they currently live in New Orleans with their two children and two crazy dogs. Prescott started writing at the age of five, and sold her first story about a talking turtle to her father for a quarter. She later turned to writing romance novels because there aren't enough happily ever afters in real life.
