Piper Bradley is on the precipice of making a career-altering decision. Agonizing over impending change and letting go, Piper decides a weekend trip to clear her head is just what she needs to be sure of her decision. My Review:
My Rating: 3 Stars

Sean and Isla meet in the elevator on the way to Sean's brother Michael and Isla's best friend Felicia's engagement party. While their is instant attraction Isla does not like how Sean acts in the elevator. After a crazy kiss the two part ways. A few months later Isla is up to be head chef at the restaurant she has been working at for awhile until the owners decide to bring someone new in. Who do they bring in, but Sean from the elevator. Now the two have to learn to work together in the kitchen.

This was cute. I liked that Isla was a spitfire and her relationship with her grandfather. It's hard for Isla to open up and trust other people. I liked that we saw the girls from the other books in the series and saw how they were doing. The bantering between Sean and Isla was funny and endearing. I just didn't fall in love with Sean though. I didn't hate him but I didn't love him either. I also felt the build up of them giving in to their feelings was great but then everything else just felt totally rushed. This is a cute book though if you are looking for something quick, enemies to lovers banter and a hea.

EXCERPT

The first time I met Sean Kincaid it was hate at first sight.

I didn’t know who he was at the time, but he annoyed me from the very first second he entered the same air space as me.

The feeling had clearly been mutual.

On my way to my friend Felicia’s engagement party, I was already in the elevator reaching for the button when a very tall, very attractive guy threw his arm up to stop the door from closing. The door bounced back open and he stepped in the elevator with a victorious smile on his face.

Then he stopped. Mid-smile, he just cut it off. Like once he’d taken in the view of me and made eye contact, he’d decided I no longer was worthy of his teeth being displayed.

It was so shockingly obvious that I had an immediate intense negative reaction in return.

Boom. Insta-hate.

I had a reputation of being something of a cynic because I don’t think couples should jump into moving in together or say, get married after a couple of weeks. I believe in taking it slow and background checks, so sue me. Proceed with caution or get your heart shattered into a million pieces. Or worse, you wind up with a restraining order. But I wasn’t unfriendly. I liked people. I was open to giving everyone a shot. It was rare for me to dislike a guy on sight.

But that dismissive glance made me want to build a wall brick by brick between us so I didn’t have to look at his arrogant face.

“What floor?” I asked, to be polite, because even though I couldn’t shake that flicker of irritation, I wasn’t going to be a bitch.

“Four. I’m going to my brother’s engagement party.” He made a sound of disgust, shaking his head. “He’s marrying some psycho he met on a dating app a hot minute ago.”

We were going to the same party. Fabulous. I actually agreed with him that the engagement was too fast. Which it definitely was. Felicia and Michael had been dating all of three weeks. But that psycho was my best friend, and why was she the crazy one and his brother wasn’t when both of them had jumped into the engagement?

“I’m going to the same apartment,” I said, studiously staring at the numbers panel. Do not engage. Do not argue with a total stranger, I coached myself.

We were only on the second floor. Slowest. Elevator. Ever.

“Oh, you know Michael? Do you work with him? Can you talk him out of this ridiculous engagement?”

I had never met Michael (because as mentioned, Felicia and Michael had basically just met themselves) but it wasn’t reassuring that I would adore Felicia’s fiancĂ© if he shared DNA with this guy standing next to me.

“No, I don’t work with Michael.” I turned and gave him a hard stare. “Felicia is one of my best friends. You know, the psycho marrying your brother.”

Understanding dawned, but he merely grinned. He didn’t look even remotely apologetic.

“No kidding? Small world.”

“How does that make it a small world?” I asked, unable to contain myself. “There are eight units in this building, two on the first floor, and we’re on the elevator together. Odds are we’d be going to the same party.”

His eyebrows shot up. “It’s called small talk. A non sequitur.”

Was that mansplaining? My vow to be polite disintegrated. “Small world, small talk…what else in your world is small?” I asked, giving him a questioning stare.

He just gave a laugh. “Wouldn’t you like to know.”

“No. I wouldn’t.” Because I doubted he had a small anything, in spite of my jab.

Because unfortunately, he was actually a hot piece of man candy. I could admit that. He was tall, broad shouldered, with a strong jaw. He had light green eyes that gave off an icy coolness and cheekbones that women spent hours watching YouTube videos to try to achieve with contouring. He hadn’t shaved recently, but it wasn’t a full beard. Just a few days of caramel-colored stubble that I had no doubt most women would enjoy running their fingers through.

He was gorgeous and muscular and probably had a cock to back up all that confidence.

Which made me dislike him even more.

“What do you think of this engagement?” he asked. “Seriously. No offense, but there has to be something wrong with your friend.”

“Are you serious?” Because again, Felicia was defective, but that made his brother normal? I wasn’t going to be a bitch on my own behalf, but if you mess with my friends, I will bring it. I opened my mouth to annihilate him, but got distracted when the elevator jerked to a sudden halt.

“Why are we stopping?” he asked, looking up.

The second-floor button was still lit up. “Maybe someone is going up from the second floor,” I said, because duh. That’s what elevators do. They stop at floors.

“But the doors aren’t opening.” He reached out and jammed his finger repeatedly into the “open door” button.

Fighting the urge to sigh, I just stood there and watched him pull back from the panel and run his hand through his hair.

“Nothing is happening.”

No, it wasn’t. I unfurled my scarf so it wasn’t covering my neck. It was December and I was bundled up from the commute from Brooklyn to SoHo. It was getting stuffy in the elevator. I had my purse over my shoulder and across my midsection so I didn’t have to carry it and I shifted so that I could unzip my winter coat.

Michael’s brother turned to me, panic clear on his face. “What the hell do we do?”

“It might start up again in a minute,” I said, not really that worried. I’d been on enough trains that had stopped and started again without any reason or explanation. I’d also been trapped in an elevator once about four years earlier and that had lasted three hours. Once we got past ten minutes, I would start to get concerned, but for now I wasn’t going to freak out.

“Push the help button.”

That seemed an obvious course of action to me.

But he dismissed that idea. “No one is going to respond to that.”

Okay, Mr. Elevator Expert.

“I’ll push it, then.” I tried to shift around him, but he wasn’t moving. “Excuse me.” I was determined to keep my cool.

He wrinkled his nose and frowned down at me. “What? Why?”

“So I can push the button.”

The frown deepened. His mouth was sensual, with lips that probably could do amazing things to a woman’s inner thighs, after he stripped her naked.

The only problem? Highly flammable chemistry.

My Review:
My Rating: 4 Stars

Norah is a successful woman who has her own business as a bakery owner looking to expand and even possibly owning a franchise with her famous croinuts. One of her problems is that her mom is more worried about Norah finding a husband and having some babies. After Norah shares with Dean her mom's plans to match her up at her parent's anniversary party Dean suggests they fake date, afterall he needs a date to his best friend's wedding. Apparently his best friends are worried about him and the type of lifestyle he has been living. After drawing a contract the two become business partners as fake boyfriend and girlfriend. The only problem is that they didn't know how explosive their chemistry is, but this is only supposed to be fake right?

This is a cute fake dating book that will make you laugh. I loved how Dean made Norah less uptight and Norah made Dean act more mature. The two were cute and fun together. I enjoyed watching both characters growing into stronger people. You get to see the other character's from Amy's books and see how they are handling their future. There were a few points that frustrated me with Norah and Dean, but it made them human the way they felt about everything. Overall, if you are looking for a cute flirty romcom this is the book for you.

EXCERPT 2

“I said I’d take the couch.” He straightens his glasses and frowns at me like he’s debating if I need CPR.

“Oh…um…okay.” I dip my head and scurry out of the bathroom, taking in big gulps of air.

I spot my suitcase on the sofa beneath the large bay window and make my way over to it like a lifeline. If I can focus on my bag, Dean can’t see my red cheeks, and I’ll have time to stop thinking about sex or showers or naked bodies.

Damn him. Why did he have to bring up sex in the car? I was doing just fine until he opened his big, stupid, flirtatious mouth.

With shaky hands, I unzip my suitcase, and the second I peel open the flap, my entire body seizes in panic. I gasp and slam it closed as fast as humanly possible.

“What’s the matter?” Dean asks, his footsteps heavy as he rushes over to stand beside me. He stares at my suitcase that I’m white-knuckle holding shut right now.

“Nothing!” I turn to sit on it.

Dean frowns at me, a laugh teasing the edges of his mouth. “Not nothing. What was in there? A mouse or something?”

I level him with a look. “A mouse, Dean? How the hell would a mouse get in my suitcase?”

He laughs. “I don’t know. You’re clearly freaked out about something in there, so just tell me what it is.”

I shake my head from side to side.

“Norah.”

“No.”

“Norah,” he says my name again and steps closer to me, wafting me with his freshly showered body and that deliciously seductive cologne. “I’m going to find out one way or another.”

“It’s none of your business,” I state woodenly and feel my cheeks heat.

“Bullshit,” Dean says with a sardonic grin and before I realize what’s happening he bends over, grabs my wrist, and yanks my entire body up over his shoulder.

“Dean, stop it!” I cry out as his hands cup the backs of my bare thighs. “Put me down!”

“Not until I see what you’re hiding in there.” He turns and walks me toward the bed.

“I told you it’s none of your business!” I kick my legs in a feeble attempt to break free. He just laughs and holds on tighter.

“You’re my girlfriend…you’re my business.”

I growl as I bite my lip to prevent myself from yelling the truth of our situation and outing us to whoever is probably sleeping above us. Dean tosses me onto the bed like I weigh nothing and then turns to head back toward my suitcase.

I scramble off the pillowy-soft mattress and jump on his back just as he reaches my bag. Before I can stop him, he flips it open, and I die a thousand deaths when the pink object comes into full view for both of us to see.

“Holy shit,” Dean says, his voice full of awe as he reaches down and picks up my pretty in pink bullet that, hours ago, was stashed safely away in my bathroom drawer.

I slide off his back and shove his stunned body away from my bag to snatch my vibrator out of his hand. “I’m mortified. Are you happy now?” I turn and tuck it away in a zippered pocket inside my suitcase. Rachael could have at least put it in its matching pink travel bag.

She is so getting dumpster duty next week.

Dean stares at me, his bearded jaw dropped as struggles for words for the first time in his life.

“Norah, that was a vibrator.”

“No shit, Captain Obvious.”

He runs a hand through his dark hair and hits me with a disbelieving look. “Norah, if you were so hot for an orgasm that you needed to pack a sex toy for the weekend, we seriously need to revisit this no sex policy you have.”

“I didn’t pack it,” I snap, pushing back my hair and scrubbing my hand over my forehead.

“Rachael did because I was working and struggling with what to wear, so she came in and took over because she’s a monstrous human being who will be dead very soon.”

Dean hits me with a flat look. “Seriously?”

“Yes! God, I’m not that desperate for an orgasm.”

“But that is your toy?” he replies, watching me expectantly.

“Not that it’s any of your business, but yes.” I drop onto the couch and cover my face in humiliation.

After a moment of silence, the cushion dips beside me, and I can feel Dean’s heat on my side.

“I’m going to ask you a serious question, Norah, and I want you to reply honestly.”

I pull my hands away from my face to look at him, my hands clenching into fists because I’m certain there’s a horrible joke coming my way.

His eyes rove over my face before he tilts his chin and says, “Norah, when was the last time you were properly fucked?”

Single Dad Seeks Juliet-Review

BLURB:

Dear Internet: Am I a horrible person for wanting to sabotage my work assignment—completely wreck a dating contest—because I hate the idea of love?

I know it sounds bad, but just hear me out, okay?

I (33F) work at a local paper, and two months ago, my editor assigned me a huge project—run the upcoming, highly anticipated Bachelor Anonymous contest.

In essence, I’m supposed to help a reader-nominated bachelor find his special someone, and while I should be excited to handle something of this magnitude solo, I can’t help but get queasy over how gross it feels.

Like, how cheesy could this thing get?

Not to mention, I’m the last person who should be involved in this—my dating and relationship history is a cluster. Generally, the person in charge of these things shouldn’t fantasize about lighting the whole three-ring dating circus on fire.

Anyway, men from all over Southern California, vying for the coveted bachelor role, submitted their personal ads to my paper. The readers voted, and Single Dad Seeks Juliet won by a landslide.

Enter Mr. Bachelor Anonymous (40M), the single dad Romeo seeking his Juliet.

Blah, blah, blah, right? Wrong.

You guys—and I cannot stress this enough—this guy is the ultimate man in a six-foot-three, chiseled-muscle, freaking Adonis package with aquamarine eyes that would haunt the dreams of an insomniac.

He’s a former Navy SEAL, successful business owner, motocross-riding, charming, supportive, funny-as-heck single dad, and the more time I spend with him, the more I want to bring this contest thing crumbling to the ground for an entirely different reason.

Real talk: I think I’m falling for him.

Me, the woman who despises love, might be falling for the completely off-limits Bachelor who I’m ironically assigned to help find love, while five other women think they’re the only contestants competing for his heart.

So, Internet. Am I scum? Or is all fair in love and war?

My Review:
My Rating: 5 Stars

Chloe is leaving for college soon and wants her dad to find someone so he doesn't miss her too much. Enter a Bachelor Anonymous contest. Chloe without her dad's knowledge decides to enter him and writes a winning ticket. Holley, who recently broke up with her ex has to write this article about Jake and the 5 different dates he goes on to find true love. Holley's relationship did not end well and because of it she is a little jaded when it comes to love and not looking forward to writing this article until she meets Jake.

Holley is quirky and relatable that everyone will fall in love with. Jake is the hot single dad that loves to lighten up the people around them by picking on them. I loved the banter between Jake and Holley and couldn't help but smile every time they spent time together. As the two spend more time together the harder Holley starts to fall for Jake, but can't do anything about it because of the article, but does Jake feel the same way about Holly? The side characters in this book are amazing. I love Holley's dad Phil, Jake's daughter Chloe and Jake's friend Garrett, who truly needs his own story. This will make you swoon, sigh, laugh and smile continuously throughout the book.

EXCERPT

“This is a disaster,” I groan and turn to prop my elbows on the bar. “Can I get another champagne, please?”

Dean sidles up next to me as the bartender fills my glass. “What’s up, sugar? I think your dad likes me.”

I pin him with a warning look. “If you add tits to the end of that sugar, your balls must have a death wish.”

“Why so cheery?” Dean asks, hunching over the bar to sip his brown liquor out of a rocks glass.

“Did your mother give you a puppy again? That Elaine.”

“My mother invited Nathaniel here tonight,” I state flatly.

“The perfect teeth guy?”

“Yes.”

“So, what’s the big deal?”

I pin him with an accusing look. “She gave him the impression I was here for him. Like I was some lonely sack who couldn’t get a date even if I wanted to. Jesus, this is embarrassing.”

“Relax.” Dean turns to face the party and rests his elbows behind him like he doesn’t have a care in the world. “We’ll just have to break some of your rules.”

“What do you mean?” I grab a nut from the bowl on the bar and chew on it nervously.

“Well, if you want this guy to steer clear, then a little PDA might be in order.”

“What kind of PDA?” If he says kissing, I’ll spontaneously combust.

Dean seems to read my mind and rolls his eyes. “Relax, sugar cake, I mean a little…affection.

Maybe we dance. Maybe I put my arms around your waist or play with your hair a little. Or maybe we get practically pornographic, and I waffle your fingers.” He laughs casually. “Something to show your mother this Nate guy doesn’t have a chance.”

I nod thoughtfully as I process what Dean’s just said. He mentioned touching me so casually like it’s no big deal. I suppose it isn’t since he seems to flirt with anything that walks. But I’ve been out of the game for a while now, and I can count on one hand the number of people I’ve been affectionate with, and even those were years ago. Is this really something I can pull off?

“Norah, drink the rest of that champagne. It’s going to be fine.”

I close my eyes, letting his words sink in while feeling anything but fine. “Okay, just promise you won’t try to kiss me. I’m barely holding it together as it is, and if I have to worry about you breaking the ultimate rule, I won’t survive this night.” I tip the rest of the champagne into my mouth.

“Relax, I won’t tongue thrust you in front of all your parents’ friends. I’m a mountain manwhore, but I draw the line at lip raping.”

Grip-Release Blitz and Review

Lacey Black’s Grip is a second-chance, surprise-baby contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Driven World project.

BLURB:

Mack

I live to race. It’s in my blood—the smell of dirt and gasoline, the fast cars, the screaming fans. I was the king of a small track in Missouri with the world at my fingertips. I even had the girl, until a call came from the infamous Colton Donavan. I had a choice to make: my dream or the woman I loved. I couldn’t have both.

When an unexpected surprise shows up on my doorstep in the form of a baby, there’s only one woman I trust enough to help me. Lena Stanley, the one I left behind. But being in close proximity to her reminds me of what we used to have, and what I still want. Her.

Lena

The day he walked away to chase his dream was the hardest day of my life, but I powered through. I could never ask Mack to choose between me and the opportunity of a lifetime.

That’s why I pushed him toward the latter, despite the heartache it caused.

Now, he needs my help. The problem is it’s hard to keep old feelings buried. Despite my best efforts, our connection is too powerful to deny. However, as our short time together draws to a close, I have another difficult choice to make. Only this time, I’m not just walking away from him, but his son too.

My Review:
My Rating: 4 Stars

When Mack gets the chance of a lifetime to be a race car driver he takes it, even though by doing that he loses the woman he loves. Fast forward a few years later and there is a baby on his doorstep. Mack knows he needs help and the only person he trusts to help take care of his son is the girl he walked away from. After getting an urgent plea from Mack to come help him Lena can't let him suffer. She was not expecting to find out Mack was a dad. Now she has to figure out if she can help him while still protecting her heart.

I liked that Lena was a strong woman who took care of herself. She follows her heart and tries to make sense of what would be best for her. Mack was sweet and it was nice watching him become a father to Oliver. I liked that while there was external drama, most of the drama between the couple was internal. Should Lena stay? Will Mack fight for her? This was a cute, fast read that makes you wonder if second chances will work out.

Single Dad Seeks Juliet-Release Blitz

Single Dad Seeks Juliet, an all-new laugh out loud rom com from New York Times bestselling author Max Monroe is available now!

Wrong.

You guys—and I cannot stress this enough—this guy is the ultimate man in a six-foot- three, chiseled-muscle, freaking Adonis package with aquamarine eyes that would haunt the dreams of an insomniac.

EXCERPT

“I said I’d take the couch.” He straightens his glasses and frowns at me like he’s debating if I

need CPR.

“Oh…um…okay.” I dip my head and scurry out of the bathroom, taking in big gulps of air.

I spot my suitcase on the sofa beneath the large bay window and make my way over to it like a

lifeline. If I can focus on my bag, Dean can’t see my red cheeks, and I’ll have time to stop thinking

about sex or showers or naked bodies.

Damn him. Why did he have to bring up sex in the car? I was doing just fine until he opened

his big, stupid, flirtatious mouth.

With shaky hands, I unzip my suitcase, and the second I peel open the flap, my entire body

seizes in panic. I gasp and slam it closed as fast as humanly possible.

“What’s the matter?” Dean asks, his footsteps heavy as he rushes over to stand beside me. He

stares at my suitcase that I’m white-knuckle holding shut right now.

“Nothing!” I turn to sit on it.

Dean frowns at me, a laugh teasing the edges of his mouth. “Not nothing. What was in there? A

mouse or something?”

I level him with a look. “A mouse, Dean? How the hell would a mouse get in my suitcase?”

He laughs. “I don’t know. You’re clearly freaked out about something in there, so just tell me

what it is.”

I shake my head from side to side.

“Norah.”

“No.”

“Norah,” he says my name again and steps closer to me, wafting me with his freshly showered

body and that deliciously seductive cologne. “I’m going to find out one way or another.”

“It’s none of your business,” I state woodenly and feel my cheeks heat.

“Bullshit,” Dean says with a sardonic grin and before I realize what’s happening he bends over,

grabs my wrist, and yanks my entire body up over his shoulder.

He just

laughs and holds on tighter.

“You’re my girlfriend…you’re my business.”

I growl as I bite my lip to prevent myself from yelling the truth of our situation and outing us to

whoever is probably sleeping above us. Dean tosses me onto the bed like I weigh nothing and then

turns to head back toward my suitcase.

I scramble off the pillowy-soft mattress and jump on his back just as he reaches my bag. Before

I can stop him, he flips it open, and I die a thousand deaths when the pink object comes into full

view for both of us to see.

“Holy shit,” Dean says, his voice full of awe as he reaches down and picks up my pretty in pink

bullet that, hours ago, was stashed safely away in my bathroom drawer.

I slide off his back and shove his stunned body away from my bag to snatch my vibrator out of

his hand. “I’m mortified. Are you happy now?” I turn and tuck it away in a zippered pocket inside

my suitcase.

“Norah, if you were

so hot for an orgasm that you needed to pack a sex toy for the weekend, we seriously need to revisit

this no sex policy you have.”

“I didn’t pack it,” I snap, pushing back my hair and scrubbing my hand over my forehead.

“Rachael did because I was working and struggling with what to wear, so she came in and took over

because she’s a monstrous human being who will be dead very soon.”

Dean hits me with a flat look. “Seriously?”

“Yes! God, I’m not that desperate for an orgasm.”

“But that is your toy?” he replies, watching me expectantly.

“Not that it’s any of your business, but yes.” I drop onto the couch and cover my face in

humiliation.

After a moment of silence, the cushion dips beside me, and I can feel Dean’s heat on my side.

“I’m going to ask you a serious question, Norah, and I want you to reply honestly.”

I pull my hands away from my face to look at him, my hands clenching into fists because I’m

certain there’s a horrible joke coming my way.

His eyes rove over my face before he tilts his chin and says, “Norah, when was the last time you

were properly fucked?”
