Crossing The Line-Review

Crossing The Line by Zoey Locke and Z.L. Arkadie is now live!

BLURB:

A romance between them is strictly forbidden. Neither was willing to cross the line—until now.

He calls me PG, and my heart skips a beat.

Nobody calls me that but Hercules Lord, a man I've had a crush on since high school.

He and I could never be together, though. A romance between us is strictly forbidden. The Lords are old money, and my family, the Groves, is new money—and the Groves and the Lords don't mix. The hate between our families runs deep. Deep enough to create an invisible line in the sand that neither of us ever dared to cross.

But that's never stopped us from staring at each other from across a crowded room. And we've always been cordial. Then there was that night seven years ago. I bet Hercules doesn't know that he's my first.

Yet here we are again, gazing into each other's eyes.

Tonight feels different.

We've grown up.

Our desire for each other wants to defy our restraint.

But truly, really... What will happen if we cross the line?

THE LORDS OF MANHATTAN Billionaire Romance series... If only the Capulets and Montagues had gotten their happy ending. Meet the Lords and Groves–two warring families. Only their stories don't end in tragedy. Forbidden lovers, soul mates, fake engagements, and enemies to lovers are the unputdownable tropes of this series.

This book is a standalone that ends with an HEA.

My Review:
My Rating: 2 Stars

The Groves and the Lords have been locked in a feud for many years, but Paisley and Hercules became secret friends in High School and then when they were in college had one night together. Now 7 years later they are thrown in the same room and there is still the spark that threatens to consume them. If they act on it will everything be okay or will it burn the world they know to pieces?

This was the first time I have read this author and honestly this book wasn't for me. I thought it was just okay. What I did like was the idea of the story and some of the side characters. I liked how the author made it clear where she was going to start in the next story and the idea of the next pair that will probably get together. However, I didn't fall in love with the characters or their story, but just read it. It never made me fall into the book and get lost. I felt at times the writing was too much telling and not letting the story just unfold naturally. There were jumps in time that seemed out of place instead of just rolling together. I never felt the love between them, but more the lust. I like sexy books, but this one seemed to focus more on the sexy and not the intamcy and build up to falling in love and risking everything for the one you love. I thought Paisley and Hercules both seemed very immature.

I will say this and I do say this with every book that isn't for me. Not everyone is going to love the same book. If you are thinking about reading this story then look at the other reviews and see if it fits into something that you might enjoy. This book wasn't for me, but it might be right for you.

Head Over Hooves- Review and Blog Tour

Head Over Hooves, a must read small town romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas is available today!

BLURB:

You know in movies where the big city girl lands in a small town for the holidays and falls for the hunky guy who saves Christmas?

This isn’t that story.

But this guy does look fantastic in flannel. And out of flannel…

Finding true love with his one-and-only soul mate? Drew Ryan’s given up on that.

But a hot holiday fling in Louisiana, far from his responsibilities and good guy image back home, is now on the top of his list for Santa.

So when he’s knocked on his ass—literally—by a Christmas elf who’s stealing a sleigh full of gifts and using his reindeer to commit the crime, he definitely doesn’t expect to fall head over heels.

This holiday couldn’t get any worse for Rory Robins.

First, her hair wasn’t supposed to turn green. It’s not even Christmas green.

And the elf costume wasn’t supposed to be two sizes too small.

And her con-man father wasn’t supposed to show up and go all real-life-Grinch on her beloved new hometown.

And she definitely wasn’t supposed to run into anyone while trying to fix the problem.

Especially not the hunky guy who already seems too good to be true.

But he does have a way of making her "cocoa" even hotter and a whole lot sweeter...

Still, he lives in Iowa. The only good thing her father ever gave her was a healthy distrust of men who are never around. She’s not doing a long-distance thing.

This little fling is only going to last as long as the temporary color of her hair.

Only nothing seems to be fading. And she might be asking Santa for just one more thing…

My Review:
My Rating: 4 Stars

Drew Ryan is in Autre, Louisiana to help out one of his friend's and bring a few reindeer for their Santa's Village at Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild Animal Park and refuge. While he's there he is going to try and shed himself of the good guy image and find a woman to help him have a holiday fling. This is also the same Drew that was in the Hot Cakes series! As he's hanging around Santa's Village he sees a woman with green hair dressed as a skimpy elf chasing around eight goats and becomes instantly intrigued by her.

Rory is doing her best to show the Landry's that she can pull off taking care of Santa's Village. She wasn't expecting her green hair or the elf outfit that was two sizes too small, but she has a job to do and she will do it well. She wasn't expecting Drew to be young, hot and charming when he dropped off the reindeers but she won't let herself go after him because he isn't a local and she wants to stay in the small town of Autre. After all, it's on her list to stay here and try to become part of the Landry crew. The only problem is that sparks appear whenever she looks at Drew. Add in the fact that her conman father is trying to ruin Christmas, she just doesn't have time to deal with any other complications.

I enjoyed both Drew and Rory's characters in this book. I fell hard for Drew in Gimme S'more and while you don't have to read that book to understand Drew's character, I would highly recommend it because I love that book so much! I felt bad for Rory and how hard she worked just to try and fit in without realizing she had friends in the Bayou and how much her dad was a jerk. You also get to see more of our favorite Bayou characters in this story. If you loved any of Erin's books, you will love this one. I love the quirky stories from the Landry's, crazy animals, a bad santa story, and just the craziness that usually follows the Landry family around.

The Troublemaker- Release Blitz and Review!

The Troublemaker by Claire Contreras is now live!

BLURB:

The last thing I thought I'd be doing my last semester was following my ex-boyfriend around, but here I am. I was assigned to write an article about college athletes and he's the biggest one in our town. With this assignment comes a new living arrangement that sets me up in an apartment right next to his.

As if it's not bad enough that our parents remained friends after our breakup, now there's no escaping him. I wake up, I see Mitch. I work out, I see Mitch. I'm trying to go to bed, I see Mitch. What's worse is that he keeps asking me out and I'm finding it harder to say no. I just hope I can turn in this final assignment without losing my heart.

Again.

My Review:
My Rating: 2.5 Stars

Misty is an aspiring journalist who was just assigned to write an article about college athletes, but just any college athlete but her ex boyfriend Mitch and his two friends. It wouldn't be so bad except Mitch was her first love and first heartbreak at 17. Now the two are in their last year of college and while Mitch wants to be in the MLB he wants Misty back too. Part of this assignment forces Misty to live next door to the boys and Mitch will use every weapon in his arsenal to show her they would be even better together this time.

This was a cute premise except I just didn't connect to either Misty or Mitch. Misty didn't seem to want anything to do with Mitch and kept rejecting him until one moment it was like let me get him out of my system. I also was hoping for more of her stressing about her article and it playing a bigger part of the book, but that was not the case. I also didn't see the chemistry between the two and wish I could have seen more of the longing between them and more of the build up of Misty forgiving Mitch for breaking her heart and character growth of Misty and Mitch. Overall, this was a fast paced book, but I just didn't care much about the characters. Again, I will say different people will love different books and if this seems like a good blurb for something you would like give it a shot, it just wasn't the book for me.

Playing the Player- Release Blitz!

One of us has to make a big play and decide if this game of love has a final score…

Playing the Player, an all-new steamy sports romance from New York Times bestselling author Erin McCarthy, is out now! Get ready to fall in love with JJ Beckett.

BLURB:

When a chance meeting with a tall, hot, and obviously wealthy stranger leads to a sexy hookup, can this Cinderella play to win, or will it all end when the clock runs out?

I did not steal JJ Beckett’s wallet. Or his championship ring.

In fact, seeing as I accidentally left my shoe behind, maybe I should be the one crying thief.

But after a one-night stand with the hottest stranger I'd ever seen?

Well, that was the last thing I was yelling.

Not that I had time to say much of anything–I was already late for work.

The shoe seemed like a small price to pay for a night like that.

The kind of night I could remember while I’m cleaning other people’s rooms; the kind of night a girl like me never dared to dream of.

C'est la vie, right?

Wrong.

Because the shoe wasn’t the only accidental thing that happened the morning after.

Turns out I may have grabbed his stuff too.

Putting it back isn’t as easy as I’d hoped . . . and as he says, no one plays the player.

Getting caught leads to some X-rated tackles that make it all worth the risk.

Now one of us has to make a big play and decide if this game of love has a final score…

Very Merry Married-Review!

Very Merry Married by M. O'Keefe is now live!

BLURB:

Ethan

I've got my hands full.

Running for mayor of my home town in Colorado. Trying to save the family business—and doing my damnedest to survive Christmas without murdering my brother. Nowhere on this list is room for Lexie to show up a year after our epic one-night stand.

Vegas show girl, owner of the meanest dog I've ever met, and the star of every fantasy I've had since I came home. And apparently... my wife? And she wants me to sign divorce papers.

Hell no.

Lexie

I do not get drunk married. That's what tourists do in Vegas, not locals. But even I am susceptible to gorgeous eyes and an excellent jaw line.

I was so sure Ethan was different from the jerks I usually fall for, until I woke up married without a groom or a way to get a hold of him. A year later, I finally see him splashed all over the internet—fighting with his brother at a Colorado airport.

So, what's a showgirl to do? Put on my best heels, put my dog in a hand bag and go find my husband so I can end my sham marriage. But as soon as I arrive in Salt Springs, that plan goes out the window.

Ethan hasn't forgotten me and the chemistry between us is real and explosive.

Now that I've found him he doesn't want to let me go.

Was our wedding a Vegas mistake? Or a Christmas miracle?

My Review:
My Rating: 3.5 Stars

After waking up in Vegas next to a beautiful woman Ethan has to hurry to catch his flight back to Colorado. Now a year later he is running for Mayor of his town and trying to save his family's business. When he realizes he can't do it alone he calls his sister and brother to help. Even though a year has passed he still can't help but remember the woman he woke up next to a year prior. Lexie is a Vegas showgirl who a year later is done being married to a man who didn't leave his number or any way to contact him. After seeing him fight with his brother on tv she goes to Colorado to get a divorce. The only problem is that Ethan doesn't want to let Lexie go and wants to remember why he did something so out of character and get married to a stranger so he offers her a job helping at his families inn so the two can get to know each other better. Lexie was a great character who knew who she was and wouldn't let anyone change her or make her feel bad about herself. Ethan definitely had some growing to do in this story to make him the right man for Lexie. This was a cute story that had some miscommunication problems, a few sassy kids, a whole lot of small town Christmas charm and a guy begging for his "wife" to give him a chance.

My Review:
My Rating: 3 Stars

Adam is living in the same duplex as Mellie and her brother's family. After going to Vegas for a friend's wedding the two end up married. Adam has been trying to get with Mellie for the last two years, however Mellie keeps telling him no so when she wakes up and realizes she's married to Adam she freaks out. The two then have to deal with this marriage and figure out if it is what they want and will fight for. When Mellie's mom comes to town Mellie needs to get out of her brother's house and decides to live with Adam until she can find her own place. As the two spend time together they can't fight their attraction and learn to live as together.

Adam is definitely an alpha with a sweet spot for Mellie that at times is too much and other times is sweet. Mellie has some self esteem problems and her relationship with her mother and brother are difficult to deal with, but very realistic. Both Mellie and Adam did have secrets that were revealed as the book went on. I did enjoy watching their relationship grow and some of the parts of this book, but it felt too long with a lot of sex scenes as filler and not needed to move the plot along. This was a new to me author and I would be willing to read another book to see if I liked it better.

EXCERPT

The color drains from her face and she takes a step closer to this Damien asshole. My wife actually takes a step closer to another man. As if it’s his right to protect her and not mine.

“Your date, Mel?” I ask. Her eyes dart from me to Jason, as if she’s silently asking him for help. Jason answers. He steps between us and turns to me.

“Don’t start any shit, Flynn. Goodnight.” He points towards the door, but I don’t move.

“Forgive me, but I have a bit of a problem with my wife going out on a date with another man.” For the first time, I noticed Mel’s holding a single red rose, and it drops to the floor at my announcement.

      “What?” Jason says, confused.

“Cutie,” the asshole says. He has the nerve to give my wife a nickname. That’s strike one. “You’re married? Your profile said single.” He raises both hands and takes a step back. Then, he looks at me again, perusing my body. He bites his bottom lip and looks me directly in the eyes. “Are you into getting cuckolded?” He takes a step closer to me, clearly liking what he sees. “Do you do more than watch? I hope so.” He lowers his voice to a husky whisper. Mel’s mouth opens in shock, and she takes a step back.

       That’s strike two.

“I knew you didn’t invite me in here just to meet your brother.” He drops his voice and inches closer to Mel. The sly grin on his too thin lips make it clear what he’s thinking.

       That’s it. That’s strike three.

I push off the wall and come to my full height. Damian steps back when I slowly approach him. “Damian, is it? That’s a no to your first question.” I smile when I see the fear in his eyes as I get closer to him. He steps away until his back hits the wall. Idiot.

Now he has nowhere to run. I step closer, lift him off his feet by his neck and pin him to the wall.

Jason rushes over. “Let him go, Flynn.”

I ignore him. In fact, I squeeze the fucker’s neck just a little bit.

“Adam, stop!” It doesn’t help to calm my anger when I see my wife wringing her hands over this useless piece of shit.

“If you ever so much as breathe the same air as my wife again, I will rip your fucking heart out of your chest. Got that?” When he doesn’t answer, I squeeze his neck again, lower my voice and say,“I asked you a question.”

    “Yes,” he croaks out.

He starts to kick at me, but I look into his eyes and arch an eyebrow. He stops immediately.

“Does that make me sound like a man who will watch as another man fucks his wife?” My voice is so low that only he can hear me. He swallows and shakes his head, unable to form a single syllable. “Good. I guess that answers your second question.” I lower my voice further. “Now, get the fuck out of here before I snap your neck.” His eyes bulge right before I let him go. He starts to cough, but before Jason can reach for him, he runs to the door. I follow and shove him out.

After I close and lock the door, I turn back to Jason and my wayward wife. She stands there, mouth and eyes wide open. I make sure to squash the rose given to her by that other man. I hear a shriek before she runs across the room. I grab her wrist before her hand connects with my face, but she pushes out of my hold and starts to pummel my chest with punches. I grab both wrists, turn her around and hold her back against my chest.

“Let her go,” Jason orders, coming closer. “Right now, Flynn.” So, I do, and as soon as she’s able, she turns and attacks me again.

“You bastard,” she yells. “You fucking bastard. I’m going to chop you up into pieces and throw your worthless body parts into the Charles.” She punches and kicks until Jason grabs her and stands between the two of us.

Jason holds a hand towards Mel, a silent gesture to ask her to shut up. She stops talking, but she’s like a cornered animal, ready to strike again at any moment.

“Why do you keep calling Mellie your wife?” His brown eyes are shrewd as he looks at me and waits for my answer. I pull the marriage certificate out of my pocket and hand it to him.

His eyes widen as he looks at it. When he’s done, he hands the piece of paper to his sister, not saying a word. He crosses his arms and waits for her to talk.

The instant she gets her hands on the marriage certificate, she rips it to pieces, walks over, and throws the pieces of paper in my face.

“I don’t know what he’s talking about. That’s a fake,” she says to Jason. “Please do what I asked you to do this morning and evict him. He’s turned into a full on stalker.” She glares at me before turning back to him. “He scares me.”

I snort so loud, it turns into a laugh.

“You attacked me twice, and you’re scared of me? Since when?”

“You think a few punches was an attack? Just wait. I’m going to slice your face when you sleep tonight, just like I should have done the other night.” She lunges for me again, but Jason wraps an arm around her waist, lifts her off her feet, and pulls her away.

“What the hell is going on in here? Jason, are you coming back to bed?” Jason’s wife, Alex, stops short when she sees me. She looks around the room, sighs, and walks towards Mel.

“Did he chase your date away again?” She shakes her head and says, “This has got to stop. She is not your property, Adam.”

“Never said that, but she is my wife. I’m sure you’d have stopped it too if Jason brought home another woman.”

Alex stands still and looks around the room. She turns to Mellie,  runs a hand through her curly, dark hair. “What the hell did he just say?”

“I’m waiting to hear Mellie’s take on that,” Jason says.

“I already told you he’s lying.” My wife crosses her arms. I’m not sure if she’s defiant or deep in denial.

“I’m lying?” I ask her. “Out of the two of us, you’re saying I’m the liar?”

“As if I would ever marry you.” Mel scoffs and like a petulant child, she turns her head away from me.

“I’m disappointed in you, wife,” I say to Mel. “You’ve always been a pathological liar, but this is low even for you.”

“So, just so we’re clear, you did not marry Adam in Vegas?” Jason asks his sister.

“As if I would ever,” she scoffs. “I’m not attracted to him.”

She doesn’t disappoint. I knew she’d fight me, but the outright denial is unexpected. It hurts that someone who promised to love, honor and cherish is now denying those sacred vows.

“Well, this marriage certificate says otherwise. And that kiss we shared on New Year’s Eve? That wasn’t a kiss from someone who isn’t attracted to me.” I pull out another marriage certificate and hand it to Alex. She puts a hand to her mouth in shock as she reads it. “And you put this on my finger." I hold up my left hand and show them the platinum wedding band. She tries to reach for that certificate too, probably to rip it, but Jason holds her back.

“Go ahead, rip it. I have more. But you can rip them all, and it won’t erase one fact. We’re married.” I pull out my phone and hand it to Jason. “Press play,” I tell him.

Mel lunges for the phone, so Jason hands it to Alex. She touches the screen, and my wife’s voice fills the room.

“I, Melanie Elyse Dupree, take you, Adam Finnegan Flynn, to be my lawfully wedded husband.” Mel lets out a loud scream, and she breaks free of Jason’s hold. He tries to grab her arm, but she runs across the room, jumps on me, and goes for my neck. Jason grabs her waist, but she manages to wrap her hands around my throat and squeeze. It takes no effort for me to pull her hands off. Jason lifts her away, but she’s like a crazed animal, doing her best to get away from him and come after me again.

Very Merry Married by M O’Keefe: Ethan doesn’t remember getting married to a Vegas showgirl. But when she walks into the family inn with her nonstop curves and divorce papers, he remembers their wedding night. And now he doesn’t want to let her go.

Jingle Bell Beard by Julie Kriss: Matt is the grumpiest NHL player in the league, and nothing can make him come home - except the girl who broke up with him in high school, who needs him to beef up her PR campaign. Maybe he needs her to warm up his cold heart.

An Irresistible Chance by Kim Loraine is releasing November 1, 2021!

BLURB:

A sexy, single-dad romance standalone

Don't sleep with the nanny.

That should be a simple rule to follow, but some things are easier said than done.

Especially when the nanny I hire to take care of my wild child daughter turns out to be the one I can't forget.

The woman I shared a red-hot anonymous kiss with a few weeks ago when we were trapped in an elevator? Yeah, seems she's one and the same--sweet, sexy, irresistible Daisy.

When she shows up in town, fresh-faced and ready to care for my kid, it hits me like a kick from a stubborn mare. I'm in way over my head.

I've been fantasizing about seeing my elevator woman again. And now I'm seeing her every damn day at the breakfast table, or at the playground with my adorable daughter.

Daisy is exactly what my little girl needs.

Best Friend's Don't Kiss-Review and Excerpt

BLURB:

Goal: Find a boyfriend, get married, buy a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence, and pop out 2.5 kids.

Deadline: Sixty days.

That’s possible, right?

HAHAHA. *Faints*

I’m kidding. Well, kind of. I mean, I’m not going to attempt a shotgun wedding or try to get knocked up by some guy I met on the internet, but there is no doubt that, this year, home for the holidaystakes on a whole new, terrifying meaning.

I have to travel from New York City—my home and safe haven for the last fifteen years—to my tiny hometown in Vermont for Christmas, my baby sister’s wedding, and my high school reunion.

Talk about a trifecta of single-doom.

Throw in Callie Camden—aka my high school class’s version of Regina George—and it’s a recipe for certified disaster.

Especially since my mouth ran away from me when she asked me if I’d be bringing someone to our reunion, and I told her to put me down for two.

Gah. Now I can’t go alone.

But the online dating world is a cesspool of bad manners, speedy hookups, and outright weirdos.

Handsome, single, successful—that’s what I’m looking for.

And it just so happens that my best friend Luke London fits all of the criteria.

The only problem is best friends don’t kiss…

My Review:
My Rating: 4.5 Stars

Ava and Luke meet as Freshmen at Columbia University and become friends right away. 15 years later they are still BFF's and even live in the same apartment building. Ava is the last single woman in her family and her mom and aunts can't help but try to play matchmaker for her. Throw in a high school reunion, an old rival, an accidental slip of the tongue and now Ava needs a date to take home for her sister's wedding and high school reunion.

This was a hilarious, holiday, slow burn book for anyone who needs a little Christmas cheer. Ava and Luke have both at times always had feelings for the other, but they were never single at the same time. There were times I wish Ava would stand up for herself, but I was always glad when Luke defended her. I truly enjoyed that they both had their own dreams and aspirations and supported each other in those journeys. Luke was sweet, sexy and overall a great guy. I enjoyed Ava's aunts, who brought lots of humor to the story. I also enjoyed seeing the billionaire boys from Max Monroe's other books.

Excerpt

Ava

I only get two steps toward my door when my phone starts ringing from inside my purse. I dig it back out again to find an unknown number with a Vermont area code flashing on the screen.

I know I should let it roll to voice mail, but Aunt Poppy called me from jail one time, and I never heard the end of how I wasted her one phone call by not answering.

Reluctantly, I hit the green button and put it to my ear.

“Ava! It’s Callie!”

Damn Aunt Poppy and her fascination with streaking!

“Oh, uh…hi, Callie…”

“Sorry to bother you, but I had one more question to ask, and since I now have your number, I figured I’d just call you really quick!”

Greattt. “Sure thing,” I say with saccharine sweetness.

“Since I have to finalize the head count for the venue by tomorrow, I need to know if I should just put you down as a single,” she begins. “Pretty sure your mom told me you weren’t married or engaged or dating anyone, but I just want to double-check that you’re still single. Honestly, I think you’re one of only ten people from our high school that isn’t married yet!” she exclaims through an amused giggle.

I put my phone on speaker, drop it down on my entry table, and give it the double finger with as much gusto as I can manage.

Obviously unaware of my display, she continues. “So crazy that most of us have reached the age where we’re married, and some with kids now. Which, by the way, I can’t believe your baby sister Kate is getting married before you. Soon, you’re going to be the only single Lucie left!”

My tongue is tied by an imaginary angry fist, but it doesn’t matter. One of the only positive qualities Callie possesses is the ability to carry on an entire conversation herself.

“By the way, you’re the best for helping me plan the reunion!”

“That’s me.” The best people-pleasing lunatic in NYC who really should look into finding a good therapist to help me work through all of this before I have to head home to Vermont to watch my baby sister get married in the same week I get to attend a fifteen-year high school reunion I somehow got roped into helping plan. With the Regina George of my high school class. In less than two short months from now.

Okay. So, I don’t need to find a therapist; I need to find Jesus. I just hope he lives in Manhattan.

“So…one or two?” Callie asks, pulling me from the deep recesses of my thoughts.

“One or two?”

She giggles again. It’s like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. “How many people should I put you down for, silly?”

This is a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street; it has to be. A new Halloween movie or something. Michael Myers himself must be right outside my freaking door.

That’s the only way the universe would be cruel enough to add Callie’s interest into the swirling, boiling pot my family already has roasting over the Ava’s Relationship Status fire.

Just like that, it hits me. I cannot go to this reunion and attend my baby sister’s wedding alone in the same damn week. I just…can’t.

I completely break under the fucking pressure of it all, and the words blurt from my lips before I can stop them. “Two.”

“Two?”

“Uh…yeah… I’ll be bringing my…boyfriend.”

You’ll be…what? You don’t have a boyfriend, Looney Tunes!

“Your boyfriend? Oh, how exciting! Your mom didn’t tell me you were seeing someone!”

“It’s…uh…fairly new.”

Yeah, it sure is. It hasn’t even fucking started yet…

Thinking better of my answer, I add to it quickly before Callie can undercut it. “But serious. Really serious, actually. We’ve just been keeping it private so we can enjoy the perfectness by ourselves for a while.”

Dear God, Ava.

“That’s so awesome! What’s his name?”

Yeah, Ava! Tell your old archnemesis all about your imaginary boyfriend!

Panic sets in when I realize there is absolutely no way I can talk myself out of this conversation. So, I do what anyone in my situation would do—avoid it.

Three bangs of my fist to my own freaking door, I end the call in a rush, “Oh shoot, Callie! I have to go. My boyfriend just got here, and we’re already late for a big, fancy Halloween party in SoHo. Talk soon! Bye!” Click.

It’s official. I’m pathetic.

I might as well be Debra Messing’s character in The Wedding Date.

Sure, my sister didn’t have an affair with my ex while I was still dating him, but she is my baby sister whose impending nuptials will make me the oldest and last single Lucie sister. And now, because I let Callie fucking Camden get the best of me with her backhanded bullshit, I told the snooty biotch that I have a boyfriend and I’d help plan the reunion.

Oy vey.

Call me crazy, but I highly doubt I can find a hot, Dermot-Mulroney-looking escort in under sixty days.

You know, you could just be an adult about this and tell Callie how you really feel—that you don’t have a boyfriend and you don’t want to help plan that stupid reunion with someone who was a total bitch to you in high school…

That would certainly be the easy way out, wouldn’t it?

Too bad my damn pride is making that feel like an impossible option.

On a heavy sigh, I drop my phone back in my purse, sling my bag over my shoulder, snag the stupid invitation off the counter, head straight out of my apartment, and stride right across the hall, barging through my best friend’s unlocked front door.

I swear, one of the best things Luke and I ever did was rent apartments in the same building—and on the same floor—from his rich uncle Gary. It makes freak-out moments like this a heck of a lot easier to handle.

My go-go boots pound across the hardwood floors as I make a beeline past Luke—who is standing in his living room—dump my purse, and head straight for the kitchen.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where’s the fire?” he says on a laugh. “Please tell me you haven’t gone old-school and brought a hot plate into your apartment.”

“Funny ha-ha, Luke,” I retort but keep it moving to the fridge. “The fire is my life. Everything is shit, I need a drink, and I’m pretty sure we’re already late to the party!”

Playing with Trouble-Review and Release Blitz!!!

BLURB:

From pro rugby player to...Manny?

Australian rugby pro Cole Hauser has had enough of speculations about his future post-injury. So when a football buddy puts his house in America at Cole's disposal, he jumps at the chance for some peace and anonymity. The plan is perfect--until he discovers he's roomies with a woman who knows how to wield a nail gun and her kid. Awesome. Not.

Single mom Jane Spencer is supposed to be spending four weeks alone in the wilds of Colorado rehabbing a house that'll put her business on the map. Instead, her time is overrun by her four-year-old and a grumpy, too-sexy rugby dude whose only goals are to watch ESPN and brood. Awesome. Not.

When, surprisingly, McHottie offers to get his ass off the couch and help Jane out with Finn, she's hesitant. But before she knows it, Cole is knee-deep in kid activities during the day and they're both fighting their simmering attraction at night.

Anything between them can only be temporary - their time together is short and Cole lives on the other side of the planet. It should be easy to say goodbye, right? Wrong. It doesn't take long for them to realize they've borrowed a whole lot of trouble.

But trouble never felt this good.

My Review:
My Rating: 3 stars

Jane is currently trying to work on a renovation for a client and take care of her four year old son when ex Rugby star Cole ends up at the same house. Now the two are roomies and trying to stay out of each other's way. When Cole ends up offering to watch Jane's son while she works she hesitantly agrees and watches the two guys get to know each other. Maybe Cole isn't as bad as she thought he was. The two have a tentative truce that ends up to leading to more. This was a great premise but I just didn't feel as much chemistry between the two as I wanted to. I also felt that at points this story dragged. I will say I enjoyed watching Cole with Finn and seeing Jane become more relaxed as the story went on. This book did not have a lot of outside drama either which was nice.

Make Me Yours-Review and excerpt!!

He’s my brother’s best friend.

The hot single dad next door.

And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.

Make Me Yours, an all-new rom com that is all too sexy from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow is available now!

BLURB:

It’s my own damn fault. I’m thirty years old, for heaven’s sake. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a (reasonably) responsible adult. I should know better than to get tipsy and draft a fake text listing all the dirty things I wish Officer Cole Mitchell would do to me.

I wasn’t supposed to hit send.

He wasn’t supposed to see it.

And he definitely wasn’t supposed to text back telling me to go on . . .

Because after that, things escalate quickly.

Cole is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sexy and protective. A devoted father to his little girl. A dedicated cop the whole town adores. The kind of guy you can trust to keep his hands to himself, even when you’re desperately hoping he won’t.

I’m not the girl he thought he’d end up with, but after all this time, I might finally get the chance to say the words I’ve always dreamed of . . . make me yours.

My Review:
My Rating: 4.5 stars

Cheyenne lives in the small town of Bellamy Creek, teaches Kindergarten and has had a massive crush on her brother's best friend Cole since she was a teenager. The two are once again neighbors as they both are living with their mothers while trying to plan out what to do next in their lives. After Cheyenne accidently sexts Cole, the two start something that was building up for years.

I loved Cheyenne. She was a smart woman who knew what she wanted and deserved. Even when it was hard Cheyenne went with her heart and head and didn't let herself deserve anything less than the best. Cole was a super sexy single dad that was trying to do the best for his daughter while finally dealing with the fact that he wanted Cheyenne. I also loved Cole's daughter Mariah and how she handled everything in this book. This love story is not an easy one. There is angst, the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop, loss and the steps of grieving someone who died, but there is also humor and those sweet moments that just make you sigh in happiness and definitely some steamy moments! I loved the first book in the Bellamy series and I really enjoyed this one too. I hope the next book is about Enzo and Bianca because I have a feeling those two are going to be an inferno.

EXCERPT

Darlene spoke up. “My mother passed them down to me, and I want to make sure they’re in good condition so I can leave them to Cheyenne when she gets married.” Then she crossed herself and closed her eyes, her lips moving in a quick, silent prayer.

Cheyenne ignored her mother and addressed Mariah again. “My brother and I always had to wash and dry the wedding china on holidays before we went to bed. It took forever.”

“I’d stay and help you, sis, but I have to get Blair home. Sorry.” Griffin gave her a grin that said he wasn’t the least bit sorry, and Cheyenne stuck her tongue out at him.

“Cole, why don’t you stay and give Cheyenne a hand?” My mother suggested, wrapping her scarf around her neck.

“That’s a great idea,” Darlene said brightly. Then she sort of bent over and rubbed one hip, her expression agonized. “I’d help her myself but I’ve been on my feet a lot today and the doctor said that isn’t good for my joints.”

“You should just get to bed, Darlene,”my mother said, shepherding Mariah toward the front door. “Cole will be more than happy to stay and help Cheyenne.”

“Oh, that’s okay.” Cheyenne smiled at me and shook her head. “I can handle them.”

But Darlene beamed at me, reaching over and snatching my coat out of my hands.

“That’s so nice of you, Cole. I’ll just hang this in the front closet.” Before she left the room, she and my mother exchanged a look that had me wondering if the whole helping-with-the-dishes thing had been a set-up.

Either way, ten minutes later Cheyenne and I were pushing up our sleeves in the kitchen, the house dark and silent except for the running faucet and the hum of the dishwasher.

“I’ll wash, you dry?” she asked, adding dish soap to the side of the sink she’d plugged and lined with a towel.

“Sure.”

She took a plate from the stack to her left and placed it in the warm soapy water. “Oh! I almost forgot.” Slipping her rings and bracelets off, she set them on the windowsill above the sink. “So I don’t scratch anything,” she explained.

“Oh.” I glanced down at my wedding ring. “It’s okay,” she said quickly. “You don’t have to take it off.”

“It’s fine,” I said, working it off my finger and placing it on the sill next to her jewelry. For some reason, I felt compelled to explain why I still wore it all the time. “Mariah once told me she likes when I wear it, so . . .”

“I think it’s nice, ”she said. “I like a guy who wears his ring. It says something about him, you know?”

I nodded, my attraction to her growing even stronger. “Still, we’d better be careful with these dishes.”

“Damn right, we’d better,” she deadpanned. “This is my fucking wedding china, Cole. If we even look at it wrong, I might end up a spinster.” She laughed as she gently scrubbed the plate with a cloth. “My God. Is she not totally ridiculous?”

“She’s pretty bad,” I agreed, taking the plate from her and carefully drying it with the soft clean towel she’d given me. “But mine wasn’t much better tonight. Did you have the feeling something was up between them as we were saying goodnight?”

“Yes,” she said. “And it’s probably my fault because I made the mistake of telling my mom you bought me dinner last night. In her mind, I believe we are now betrothed.”

I laughed. “That’s all it takes, huh?”

“Apparently. Tomorrow I’ll be pregnant because we washed dishes together after dark.”

“Wow. Guess I should have worn the rubber gloves.”
