Dakota is a pro football player who doesn't always have a filter and speaks his mind. Enter Eloise who is part of the teams Social Media managers. Eloise is what she considers a nerd with her kitten themed sweaters and glasses, except she loves Football and being with the teams PR is a dream come true. Dak ends up running his mouth on Twitter and now needs a babysitter when he goes to visit his family in Tennessee. Eloise gets chosen and as the two spend time together they realize that they might be friends after all. As the two get to know each other better Dak realizes there is more to Eloise or Kitty as he calls her then he originally thought. Dak and Eloise start to fall hard and fast for each other but Eloise is scared of giving in because the nerdy girl never gets the hot football player right? It's just fantasy or is it?

This is a super cute story that had witty banter, steamy moments and a Football player that believes life is too short to not go for what you want. I love that Eloise didn't just fall at his feet and that her struggle of deciding if she wanted to be with him was real. I also loved that this was written in dual Point of View so you got to know Eloise and Dak better. If you are looking for a good book to read about a football player and a nerdy girl, this book is for you!

EXCERPT

As Dak sauntered through, big and cocky, it was like watching the viral video of fainting goats. First all the women sat up straight, tits out, eyelashes fluttering madly, then as soon as he passed them, they collapsed back, drained and dreamy.

Even though I knew for a fact that he’d had sex with at least two of the women at headquarters, he never spoke to anyone in particular.

Except me.

In the cruelest of all damn ironies, he spoke to me on a regular basis.

Wearing track pants that did nothing to hide a huge cock moving freely beneath the cotton, Dak came toward me. And yes, even as a virgin, I had enough experience with penises in general to know that his was nothing short of impressive. He had on a team logo sweatshirt, which also didn’t disguise his broad shoulders and ripped arms. His hands were huge, and I imagined if he spread one across my face, it would block out the sun entirely. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Mabel Lee's best friend is getting married and to celebrate her bachelorette party they decide to go to a strip club. Since Mabel Lee is the most innocent of her friends they make her a list of challenges they want to see her do that night. While trying to do one of the challenges Mabel catches the eye of one of the entertainers "Viper." As soon as Viper sees Mabel Lee he knows she isn't like any other woman he's met. Leaving Mabel his phone number on a condom he hopes she will call him. After the two start talking Mabel realizes she likes Kellan and wants to know more about him. The two start dating, but Mabel has to be careful with the eyes of her father's church and mom watching over her. This was a cute story that didn't have too much drama. I thought it was a little too insta-love for my taste, but it's only 192 pages. I was expecting more drama the way Mabel was raised. I wanted to see more of how they fell in love and their relationship play out. I thought Mabel Lee was too perfect of a character and it just made the book seem that much more unbelievable. I will read the second one as I think it is longer and more of my trope of best friends sister. This wasn't a bad book, just not the best book for me. I also didn't care for how fast everything worked out. I just wanted more.

Lev and Scout have known each other since they were about 8 years old. Lev and Scout have always bickered  and pushed each other's buttons, that hasn't changed since they've grown up. It's just gotten worse, especially with Scout dating Lev's twin brother Navrin. More buttons are pushed and finally all that hate turns into chemistry that's too hard for Lev or Scout to deny anymore. Afterall, there's a thin line between love and hate.

I absolutely loved Lev and how he does what he thinks is the right thing, even though it's not always the things he should do. Scout's inner turmoil is realistic and explained well about the choices she makes. I was glad this book was written in dual P.O.V because otherwise we would not understand the characters like we do.  While the main characters were great I really enjoyed the other "royals" and can't wait to read their stories. This is an author I will keep requesting arcs from because the stories are well written.

        “You’re sick. You know that?” But even as I say it, I know we’re both infected, tainted, ailing from the same illness, and neither one of us will do anything to cure it. Nate is always there to save Emme, whether it be from locking herself out of her apartment to other stuff. Nate is not into relationships, especially being a divorce lawyer, whereas Emme wants the happily ever after. Both are fine with their friendship until a baby turns up on Nate's door. Nate has no clue what to do with a baby, but lucky for him his neighbor across the hall used to babysit. Learning how to be a dad is a lot of work, but it also brings up thoughts about why he's never really let anyone in. Watching Emme with his daughter and spending time with her Nate has to figure out what he wants in his life. Does he want Emme as more than just a friend? Now seeing Nate with a baby, Emme sees a softer side of Nate and with the underlying attraction that has always been there can she stay away?

This was a great book written in dual point of view that shows how they both are handling the news of Nate's daughter and the attraction between the two. Nate's fears aren't going to go away instantaneously and Emme needs to work on some things too. I enjoyed this book better than the third one in the series because it wasn't as insta-love and had to laugh at Stella because I knew what was going to happen when she got her story. Overall, this was a great book and I will have to read the second one in the series soon.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review, and that's what I have to give...even if I didn't love this book. I thought this would be a paranormal romance, however I feel it would best be described as erotica. This book is just basically sex. There is very little plot, maybe a second of world building and no lead up to a relationship between Dante and Gia. I guess if I went in knowing this I might have liked the book better. This is a new author to me and honestly if her other books are like this I will probably steer clear. I don't mind sex in my romance books, but when the book is literally only sex and insta-love I just can't stand it. One of the things I did like about this book is that Gia wasn't afraid to stand up to Dante as she tried to be his equal. I also thought the author did a nice job setting up the characters for the next book. Again, there are quite a few people who seem to love this book on Goodreads, unfortunately this was not a great fit for me.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were a virgin?'

I fling my arm over my eyes. "So sorry to disappoint."

"You're sorry?"

He grabs my arm and wrenches it away from my face.

"Don't you dare say that."

His chest heaves.

His color is high. His eyes blaze at me. He looks like... a man possessed.

A fierce emotion twists my gut. "You're angry?"

"Angry?" His voice lowers to a growl, "That’s an understatement."

I blink, trying to form my thoughts into words, then give up.

He pins back his ears which I swear have elongated further in the last few seconds.

"I am your first, do you know how that makes me feel?"

He bares his teeth and his canines drop.

"Umm, good?" My voice cracks.

"What was that?" A vein throbs at his temple.

That's not a positive sign, is it?

I clear my throat. "It makes you feel... good?"

He leans in close enough for our eyelashes to kiss, "It makes me want to tie you down and make love
to you until you can't walk straight for days...”

“Your ears.” I gulp. “They are pointed at the tips.”

“So?”

“So they weren’t before.”

“No, that only happens when I am turned on. As does this." He peels back his lips, and his canines drop.

Fear tugs my nerves. Anticipation stretches my skin.

“You are Fae?”

He jerks his chin.

Don't say it, don't say it. “Ah, and are you…turned on now?”

"What do you think..?"

“Do you know how you sound just now, Starlight?”

The fine hairs on my nape rise. He hasn’t even touched me properly, and already I am melting inside.

 “Wha…what did you say?”

“I asked if you heard yourself.” He nips the soft skin at the base of my throat.
Heat slides down my spine.

However much I want to deny it, fact is that I have wanted him from the moment I saw him.

“Yes.” I focus my gaze on him. “I sound like someone who wants everything you can do to me.”

The muscles of his shoulders bunch, the planes of his chest flex.

“Do you?” His voice slides over my skin.  A tremor of need twists my insides.

I swallow. I want to tell him, yes. Yes. I shake my head.

“Liar.”

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. This book for me was only 3.5 stars. Rachel is one of my favorite authors..so I feel bad not loving this book, but I felt the relationship between Bridge and Izzy's relationship just felt too fast and forced. I also didn't like how Izzy was supposed to be this smart strong woman and didn't realize that Bridge, who is more muscular and a few other things wasn't Julian. I think for me the first part of this book dragged, but the second part kicked up a bit and I felt it was better. I might be in the minority here, but I also felt bad for Julian. We only know what Izzy and Bridge knew and I feel like some of the stuff they knew wasn't the truth.(view spoiler) I will say by the end of the book I was rooting for Bridge and Izzy. They were both flawed, but fit well together.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Abbie is trying to live her dreams after escaping her past. Lex is just trying to live his life while avoiding his father at all costs. A chance encounter has these two meeting and sparks fly. What happens when fate keeps throwing these two together? Even though they both try to fight it, you can't hide chemistry. This book starts off in the present and in the first chapter goes back to 5 years in the past. While most of this book is in the past it shows the pieces of their story. Abbie is struggling with her past and just wants to focus on herself while Lex is struggling with doing the right thing. Like normal Nana Malone fashion she leaves you with a cliffhanger that makes you wonder just how everything works out. I liked both characters.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review before I read the second one for a review. Jordan is transferring colleges to the one that her brother's play hockey for. When she meets up with her brother's at a bar and meets Jake there is instant attraction. Too bad Jordan promised her brothers she would never date another one of their teammates again. As Jake gets to know Jordan the more he likes her. Jordan stands her own against her protective brothers. This felt like a slow burn hockey romance with a little bit of humor from Jake and Jordan's younger siblings and a dash of mystery. The one thing I didn't care for and took a bit of time for me is the way this was written. It was dual P.O.V. which normally I love, but the author tended to repeat bits to get both Jordan and Jake's P.O.V and sometimes it would switch P.O.V between a chapter. I look forward to reading the second one because it was a light read with a HEA. This was the author's debut book so I am sure her writing will only grow better.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Nana Malone was a new to me author this summer and one I just can't stop reading! This duet begins with Theo aka Derrick Arlington's body double. Theo is supposed to keep a low profile and just pretend to be Derrick for a month. It doesn't seem so hard until he has to get a bodyguard and not just any bodyguard, but one he is attracted to not only for her looks but for her personality. Zia tried to help Derrick before and he did not seem to want her help until she gets assigned to be his bodyguard. She doesn't want to turn down the job so she just puts her feelings and pride aside and treat him like any other assignment. That doesn't last long when the chemistry starts to flare between these two. The only problem is Derrick isn't really Derrick and when secrets are consistently getting in the way will the two come together or break apart? This book had great sexual tension, brought in the other characters from her previous books, and even though I guessed pieces of the book it still ended on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the second part of the duet. “Get rid of her, or she comes with us.”

“I’m not going anywhere, buddy.” I jabbed him in the chest in an attempt to create more space. In close combat with this guy, I’d lose. Sure, I was faster and nimbler. But one good hit and I’d be down.

His sharp, slashing brows drew down. “Suit yourself. I know what to do with someone like you.”

I’d bet he did. And none of those things included me sleeping in my warm cozy bed tonight. “Babe, come on the royal family wants a photo.”

Gray Eyes arched a brow. “Darling, you go ahead I’ll meet you there.” His voice was sin and bad decisions mixed together.

His voice had lost some of the sin quality. It was colder, like he was pissed.

Unbelievable. “You could have fooled me. Men wielding weapons and shoving you into a car are generally bad news.”

His gaze narrowed as he glowered at me. “I had it under control.”

I crossed my arms. “Oh, so you're delusional. Okay then. Goodbye, crazy. And P.S. You're welcome.”

“You generally only say thank you when you’re glad someone did something.”

I shook my head. “For fuck’s sake. Next time I’ll let you die then. Pity. You look expensive, like someone would miss you, but it’s no skin off my back. I’ll just let the homicidal asshole kill you when he wakes up.”

“You could have been hurt. Did you pay attention to what just happened?”

“You mean besides me putting on a display of badassery the likes of which you’ve never seen? I also made this couture look damn good. Oh yes… and saved your ass.”

“My ass didn’t need saving, princess.”
